We don’t even get past the opening stinger before Joe-Joe gets a bit of the old razzle-dazzle from Jeff and Danielle. It’s R.L. Stine’s Egg Monsters from Mars (Goosebumps #42). It’s one of the most challenging texts we’ve ever read. Also, we go a bit behind the screams. It’s fun, I bet. If I was to tell you: Goosebumps book about magic, you’d probably be like ”oh, I can imagine that.” You can’t. In a rare occurrence we spend more time talking about this book then we spent reading it collectively between the three of us because R.L. Stine’s Bad Hare Day (Goosebumps #41) is the stoniest stone we’ve ever tried to wring jokes out of. You would think that after two books about ventriloquist dummies we’d learn our lesson that no books about ventriloquist dummies is the perfect amount of books to read on the topic. This is why we do the podcast about the ventriloquist dummies. It’s Night of the Living Dummy III (Goosebumps #40). Yup. One more again. Talking points include: Rizz Lord Skibidi, this box has boo on it, raw sexual cousin energy, wells don’t exist, classic Dad stuff, and pitching Slappy for Netflix.

A new Geesebumps on this day? On all days!? You better believe it. We are looking upon R.L. Stine’s The Cuckoo Clock of Doom (Goosebumps #28). It’s not about what you think it is, because you didn’t think it’s about time travel. Talking points include frog suits, origin of the word fib, 2023 predictions, and not wanting to be a cowboy. There are robots among us, perhaps even in this podcast, discussing the finer points or R.L. Stine’s work! On this episode we have the severe pleasure of discussing Haunted Mask 2 (Goosebumps #36) by old Jovial Bob Stine himself, and we have, against all odds, loved it. Gravity tried very hard to stop this episode from coming to be, but we sure showed them. It’s time to talk about The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena (Goosebumps #38) care of horror master R.L. Stine. Our initial verdict: it’s a mess. Talking points include: the war on gravity, fake fake outs, main character grown-ups, and goosebumps roads not taken. Enjoy the long, drawn out description of someone eating soup in this.

Twitter has been reclaimed by nature in the same way that we were reclaimed by Goosebumps books to which we say silly things. It’s time to discuss R.L. Stine’s It Came from Beneath the Sink! (Goosebumps #30). Talking points include turning in your twitter gun, nonsense escalation, potato movement, and messing around with the kitchen sink. It’s dead center of curve, and you can hear us enjoy that. Oh, and send us all your Superwholock memes, please.

Originally, this was to be out on Halloween, and also this was to be titled how Jesse Thorn stole food from my children’s mouths, but in fact, we have pushed through to the other side to discuss the latest piece of R.L. Stine written literary art: a collection of short spooky stories called Stinetinglers. It’s absolutely great and you should all go get it. Talking points today include: A24 Skin movies, TikTok life stories, existential bug dread, and you are the dream of a dog. Happy belated Halloween!

With a name like A Night in Terror Tower, you’d think they’d spend like...a night there. It’s time for R.L. Stine’s 27th Goosebumps title wherein everything you think you know about towers, nights, time, and existential dread are all questioned and found wanting. Also, Joe didn’t read the book and feels really vulnerable about it so back off. Enjoy!

We found our password. After a very short and totally reasonable hiatus, we’re back talking about the works of R.L. It’s like a certain musical, and also became a musical, and also drives us to listening to Danielle providing a synopsis. Watch for falling chandeliers.

The mummy is back for five dollar footlongs. It’s Geesebumps time once again friends, and this time we are making an auditory sandwich feast of R.L. Stine’s Return of the Mummy (Goosebumps #23). We talk nonsensical runs through a tomb, the hottest villain in Goosebumps canon, and how there’s a hook for that. Laugh! We command it!
