Weekend 1 of the Gears Reloaded Beta draws to a close. I got in plenty of game time over the weekend to sample what it's offering. From a very rocky opening night, to a much smoother experience by day 2 and 3, I give my thoughts on how Reloaded is feeling. Is the gameplay dated? How much fine tuning needs to be done? The Xbox Showcase is in the rearview, and while Gears of War did make an appearance, it wasn't the earth shaking type of showing that we had last year - which is fine! Turns out Gears of War Reloaded is actually looking pretty incredible, as we got an official trailer, and confirmation of the Beta as the game gets ready to hit Xbox, Playstation, and PC this summer. It continues to be a busy time for Gears of War news and there's a few thoughts to get off my COG armour plated chest. After my video a little while back worrying that the movie was in development hell, a glimmer of deep running hope appears, as The Hollywood Reporter confirms David Leitch is in talks for the Director's chair. I give thoughts on the Leitch-Spaihts Director-Writer combo, and what this could mean for the tone of the film. It’s now been almost 900 days since Netflix announced they were working on a Gears of War movie, and animated series… since then, Gears has been hotting up in a big way, but when it comes to the movie - it’s been radio silence.

As I was finishing this video, the news broke that Peter Jason, the voice actor for Dizzy has sadly passed away aged 80. At Gears Intel we send our thoughts and condolences to his friends and family. He had a huge impact on Gears fans and he will be massively missed. Rest in Power.

We are excited to finally bring you our game retrospective on Gears Tactics, the Gears of War prequel which shifts the franchise gameplay to the turn-based genre. We cover everything from the gameplay itself, story and characters, plus visuals and audio in this deep dive into what might possibly be one of the best games in the genre.
