Here is a weird observation: there is a massive spiritual awakening happening, and people are turning to all manner of places because they can feel it in their souls that there is more to this life; however, at the very same time, there are so many tragic stories in the news, and the water seems to almost be at a boil. But what if these two realities are inextricably linked? If you have never heard of a Herxheimer reaction, this is a phenomenon where a person dealing with a chronic and longstanding illness finally finds an effective treatment, but begins to get sicker. This is common in treating Lyme disease, where the right antibiotic or oregano oil can cause massive inflammation and hives (making the patient appear to grow sicker) as the Lyme bacteria is being drawn to the surface and the body is reacting to its being filtered out. What if this is exactly what we are observing in the news? It occurs to me that none of these news stories are really new: human trafficking, war, scandals, etc., they are simply new to the public. In other words, what if this great spiritual awakening is forcing humanity's darkness to the surface and shining a light on it for it to finally be dealt with?
