Our guest today is Dr. Soyeon Yi. Dr. Yi is South Korea's first and only astronaut. In December 2006, Dr. Yi emerged victorious from a pool of over 36,000 candidates to become South Korea's first astronaut. On April 8, 2008, she embarked on an 11-day mission to the International Space Station, on the Russian Soyuz. During her groundbreaking mission, Dr. Yi conducted numerous experiments that later contributed to South Korean science textbooks and television lectures. Her return to Earth on April 19, 2008, was quite dramatic. She endured a challenging ballistic re-entry, experiencing gravitational forces of 8Gs and a very bumpy landing, 260 miles off-course in the middle of the Kazakhstan steppes. She, along with crew mate Peggy Whitson and Yuri Malenchenko found themselves being greeted by nomads, instead of the proper landing crew. Dr. Yi's career has been marked by significant contributions to both business and education. She has held multiple leadership roles and is currently an advisor to BORYUNG, a South Korean healthcare and space investment company.

He was the first person to complete the āThree Poles Challengeā on footāreaching the North Pole, the South Pole, and the summit of Mount Everest. In 1990, along with BĆørge Ousland, Erling became the first to reach the North Pole unsupported, traveling 800 km in 58 days without external assistance. In 1993, he became the first person to walk solo and unsupported to the South Pole, covering 1,310 km in 50 days. He completed the journey without radio contact. After his expeditions, he became a bestselling author, writing 8 books on exploration, philosophy and art collecting, which have been translated into 42 languages. She crossed the KĆ”rmĆ”n line, which marks the internationally recognized boundary of space, onboard Blue Originās New Shepard spaceship, during the NS-26 flight, on August 29, 2024. Kitchen recently founded Orbitelle to provide educational opportunities and help young women to āfind their place in space.ā The group encourages even women who are not pursuing STEM education, as the industry needs employees with various backgrounds.

Our Guest today is Kevin Sproge. Kevin is the CEO of Zero-G. After retiring from the Navy, where he flew more than 3,000 hrs, including over 80 combat missions, and over 500 carrier arrested landings, Kevin joined Blue Origin as a Systems Engineer on the New Shepard Program. He was rapidly promoted to Director, Systems Architecture and took on the additional responsibility of developing the New Shepard astronaut training program. He was selected as one of the first two Blue Origin "CrewMember 7", and was the trainer for the historic Blue Origin First Human Flight of Jeff Bezos, Mark Bezos, Wally Funk, and Oliver Daemon. He both trained and functioned operationally as either CrewMember 7 or CapCom for all of Blue's astronaut missions in 2021 and 2022. He joined Sierra Space in 2022 as the Director of Safety and Mission Assurance for the Space Destinations sector and worked to design and build the world's first purely commercial space station. Kevin joined Zero-G as CEO in Jan 2024.
