Every NFL draft has different storylines and the 2025 draft didn't disappoint. In this episode we force GMs to defend the most surprising moves of the draft, as well as highlight the moves GMs with a true vision made this year.
In today's NFL everything is centered around the QB, meaning for defenses everything is centered around stopping the opposing QB, and there are a lot of ways to do that. In this episode we examine the various cornerback, safety, linebacker, and edge rusher prospects that teams may target in the 2025 NFL Draft to either help a struggling pass defense or turn a solid pass defense into a team strength.
Ground Rules:
First off, unlike most mock drafts that are meant to be predictions of who will be drafted next Thursday night, we’ll be relying on our panel’s personal opinions and scouting reports of each prospect to create our mock first round.
We’re going to create our very own draft war room for all 32 teams. With a 3 minute clock running to make our collective pick, Adam, Mike and Eli will be acting the part of scouts and assistant GMs as they make their recommendations to me, the acting NFL GM of every team.
Using their recommendations, with an eye on every team’s draft capital, positional importance, GM stability, as well as my own personal views, we are going to fill out our collective first round mock draft
Note: While we will be discussing potential trade strategy for teams, this mock will not include any theoretical trades.
There has been plenty said about the 2025 QB draft class, mostly that it's not that great. But is that true or just lazy analysis? Sure most current NFL starters began as 1st round picks, but it looks like there could be a lot of QBs taken on day 2 of the draft this year and teams generally don't waste 2nd round picks on long-term backups. In this episode we do a deep dive on the 2025 QB draft class.
With reportedly deep wide receiver and tight end classes in the 2025 NFL Draft there should be many ways for teams to improve their passing games. In this episode we assess the strength of the WR and TE classes, pick out teams we believe will target those positions, and discuss how we think those teams should allocate their draft capital towards their ideal fits.
Today we examine the reportedly deep running back prospect class and lay out how RB-needy teams should address the position in the 2025 NFL Draft.
In this episode we examine the teams who may look to beef up their defensive lines in the 2025 NFL Draft, which prospects would be the best fits, and how the General Managers should go about acquiring their favorite prospects.
Nearing the end of active part of NFL free agency we ask if the second-wave moves actually mattered, and how they may force General Managers into a specific form of team building over the next few years.
NFL free agency in 2025 featured players like Ja'Marr Chase, Myles Garrett, and Derek Stingley getting PAID, but how do these contracts compare to their positional value historically, what position values are changing the most, and is it reactionary or smart football?
In the inaugural episode of Front Office Playbook we compare the different team-building strategies employed by NFL General Managers in free agency.
