Des is Director of Sport and Physical Wellbeing at the University of Galway in Ireland, where he leads the strategic development and management of the university’s sports programs and facilities. Prior to joining the University, he spent nine years as Head of Sports Medicine and Sports Development at the Arsenal Football Club Academy. Prior to that, he was Head of Strength and Conditioning at Connacht Rugby and Fitness Education Manager at the Irish Rugby Football Union. Des also worked as a consultant for World Rugby, Brentford FC Academy, and the National Cricket Academy in India.

Dr Bryan Heiderscheit is the Frederick Gaenslen Professor in Orthopedics and Vice-Chair of Research for the Department of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation. Springbok Analytics specializes in providing advanced, AI-driven muscle analysis. It offers a platform that delivers precise, 3D muscle volume measurements using MRI images. The technology is revolutionising the areas of injury prevention, performance optimization, recovery monitoring and rehabilitation strategies across elite sports, and is now being used by many of the top professional football clubs.
