Story Transcript:

Fi: Syksyinen tuuli heitti lehtiä ympäri kaupunkia, niiden kulta ja karmiini leiskuen harmaata asvalttia vasten.
En: The autumn wind scattered leaves around the city, their gold and carmine blazing against the gray asphalt.

Fi: Se oli kaunis päivä.
En: It was a beautiful day.

En: It was also the day when Eero, Liisa, and Matti were on their way to vote.

Fi: Heidän edessään kohosi äänestyspaikka, jossa ihmiset jonottivat hiljaisina mutta päättäväisinä.
En: In front of them stood the polling place, where people queued silently but resolutely.

En: Eero's nose was stuffy, and a cough tickled his throat, but he knew it was important to show up.

En: Inside the polling place, it was warm and full of people.

Fi: Takit kahisivat ja hiljaiset keskustelut täyttivät tilan.
En: Coats rustled and quiet conversations filled the space.

Fi: Eeroa ärsytti aika ajoin nouseva aivastus, joka muistutti häntä hänen kotona odottavasta mukavasta sängystään.
En: Eero was occasionally annoyed by a rising sneeze, which reminded him of his comfy bed waiting at home.

Fi: Matti vilkaisi ystäväänsä, huomaten tämän väsymyksen.
En: Matti glanced at his friend, noticing his fatigue.

Fi: "Pitäisikö sinun mennä kotiin, Eero?" Matti kysyi.
En: "Should you go home, Eero?" Matti asked.

En: "I can't go home. This is important," Eero replied decisively, even though his voice was hoarse.

Fi: Liisa hymyili rohkaisevasti.
En: Liisa smiled encouragingly.

Fi: "Eero, me autamme sinua. Äänestetään nopeasti ja mennään sitten kotiin."
En: "Eero, we'll help you. Let's vote quickly and then head home."

Fi: Jono liikkui hitaasti eteenpäin.
En: The line moved forward slowly.

Fi: Eero mietti, pitäisikö hänen antaa periksi.
En: Eero wondered if he should give up.

En: Cold sweat ran down his forehead, and he felt his strength waning.

En: Then he looked around; faces were concentrated and serious.

Fi: Hän ajatteli menneitä sukupolvia, jotka työskentelivät rakentaakseen yhteisöä.
En: He thought of past generations who worked to build the community.

Fi: All Saints' Day oli lähellä, ja se muistutti häntä siitä, kuinka merkittävä tämä teko oli.
En: All Saints' Day was near, and it reminded him how significant this act was.

Fi: Lopulta Eero pääsi äänestyskoppiin.
En: Finally, Eero reached the voting booth.

Fi: Hän teki valintansa huolellisesti.
En: He made his choice carefully.

En: When he dropped the ballot into the box, he felt pride and gratitude.

Fi: Hänen sisällään läikähti lämpö, joka on varattu niille, jotka tuntevat olevansa osa jotain suurempaa.
En: A warmth surged within him, reserved for those who feel they are part of something greater.

Fi: Kun he poistuivat rakennuksesta,...
