En: The office smelled of autumn spices, and everything quivered with anticipation.

En: Cobwebs hung everywhere, and carved pumpkins smiled from the corners of desks.

Cs: Halloween.
En: Halloween.

En: Jakub, one of the project managers, stood by his desk, clutching a mug of tea and pondering.

Cs: Nikdy se soutěže moc nezúčastnil.
En: He never really participated much in competitions.

Cs: Byl důkladný a svůj klidný rozvrh nerad narušoval.
En: He was thorough and disliked disturbing his calm schedule.

Cs: Ale letos měl jiný plán.
En: But this year, he had a different plan.

Cs: Chtěl vyhrát soutěž o nejlepší kostým.
En: He wanted to win the best costume competition.

Cs: Chtěl se svým kolegům víc otevřít.

Cs: "Terezo, mohla bys mi poradit s kostýmem?"
En: "Terezo, could you help me with a costume?"

Cs: zeptal se nesměle.
En: he asked timidly.

En: Tereza grinned from ear to ear.

Cs: Mezitím Marek, známý kanadský žertéř, pobíhal kolem a chystal své tradiční legrácky.
En: Meanwhile, Marek, known as the office prankster, was running around preparing his traditional pranks.

En: Jakub knew that his plan might be disrupted by him.

En: However, he decided it would be better to include him in the plan rather than ignore him.

En: Tereza suggested a costume to Jakub that was funny and unexpected.

Cs: Zahrnul do něj Marekův oblíbený prvek chaosu - vybouchávací bonbóny, které měl Marek připravené pro jiné kolegy.
En: It included Marek's favorite element of chaos—exploding candy, which Marek had prepared for other colleagues.

En: Jakub smiled as Marek stared incredulously at the enhanced costume.

Cs: Přišel den soutěže.
En: The day of the competition arrived.

Cs: Jakub dorazil převlečený za pohyblivou sochu.
En: Jakub showed up dressed as a moving statue.

En: Every step he took was accompanied by surprises thanks to the candies that Marek had originally planned as a joke.

Cs: Všichni včetně Marka byli v šoku, smáli se a tleskali.
En: Everyone, including Marek, was shocked, laughing, and applauding.
