Story Transcript:

En: The fresh morning mist slowly rolled over the flat top of Tafelberg, while Annelie, Pieter, and Karien had their hiking boots on and were ready for the challenging hike.

En: Annelie had recently graduated, and her thoughts were clouded with questions about the future.

En: The idea of a family hike to celebrate this milestone meant the most to Pieter.

En: He wanted to show Annelie that regardless of her uncertainties, she was not alone.

En: "Let's start, the path is long," said Pieter with a little twinkle in his eye, while Karien leapt ahead of them like a young gazelle full of enthusiasm.

Af: "Na bo gaan ons!
En: "To the top we go!"

Af: " roep Karien, haar stem vol energie.
En: shouted Karien, her voice full of energy.

Af: Elkeen se asem was wit in die koue winterlug.
En: Each breath was visible in the cold winter air.

En: As they hiked uphill, Pieter tried to talk to Annelie.

Af: "Jy weet, dit is goed om nie alles nou al te weet nie.
En: "You know, it's okay not to know everything now.

En: Life provides answers with time," he said, but Annelie just felt more overwhelmed by his advice.

En: She had been thinking only about the future for the past few months, and Pieter's efforts felt like an additional burden.

En: Karien led them, apparently not overwhelmed by anything but the next step.

En: She always maintained a positive outlook, something Annelie often admired but now just found irritating.

En: They continued on, step by step, with the fresh air being a balm for the soul.

En: When they finally reached the top, the view over Kaapstad and the ocean revealed wide horizons of possibilities.

En: It was in this moment, with the wind gently blowing, that Annelie could no longer contain her thoughts.

En: "I don't know what I want to do," she quietly confessed.

Af: "Ek is bang ek gaan almal teleurstel.
En: "I'm...
