Full disclosure, Listener, I am 53 at the time of this interview and am in menopause. My journey to this stage in my life has its twists and turns, beginning in my early 40s when I was put into medical menopause for ovarian cysts. Fast forward to my mid-40s and 2 surgeries later, perimenopause began with not just the hot flashes and weight gain we all know (and at times joke) about, but also with anxiety, heart palpitations, brain fog, hair loss, and maybe the worst…acne!

Let’s talk more about this hormonal shift and learn how we can love and support ourselves and all the women in our lives! If you’re a biological woman, there’s no avoiding this…at some point your hormones will fluctuate and you will feel like your body has betrayed you, and yet…

I suspect that if we can lean into this phase of our lives, we can learn to love ourselves even more!

In this conversation, I sit down with Amita Sharma to explore the complexities of female hormonal cycles, from PMS to menopause, and a holistic lifestyle can ease symptoms throughout our ever-changing hormonal fluctuations.

Amita shares her personal journey of overcoming chronic fatigue through natural remedies and lifestyle changes, emphasizing the need for women to understand their bodies and make informed health choices. The discussion also highlights the upcoming launch of NourishDoc, an app designed to provide accessible resources and support for women navigating their health journeys.



ABOUT Amita Sharma

Amita is the co-founder of NourishDoc, a global holistic wellness platform for women to manage their hormone transition from PMS to Postmenopause. Inspired by her perimenopausal journey and working in the high-tech world, she felt unsupported. She needed to bring the taboo topic of perimenopause to the workplace for an open discussion.

With her personal experience of going through perimenopause and keeping it a secret, it added more stress to the perimenopause state. She is on a mission to make this taboo topic part of DEI, health equity at work for women in their 40s who feel that they cannot discuss this with HR or their colleagues.

Amita has over 20+ experience working in the high-tech industry before NourishDoc. She worked as lead product manager for companies like Western Union, HP, Realtor, Houzz, and Walmart.
She has combined her passion for holistic wellness with digital technology to bring awareness as well as make wellness education affordable.
She is on a mission to bring affordable holistic wellness to every woman in the world who is going through a journey of PMS, Peri, and Post menopause..

NourishDoc has designed evidence-based and culture-sensitive holistic wellness programs for women’s self-care and expert-guided care. With menopause as a taboo globally, and over 1 billion women reaching menopause, wellness for women at this stage should be at the forefront.
