This week on The Feral Mamas Club Podcast, we’re breaking down what happens when systems punish parents, veterans, and providers alike — and why none of us are safe if we don’t stand together.
We cover the current administration’s move to roll back abortion protections for veterans, Idaho’s loss of OB-GYNs, GOP attacks on interstate shield laws, a temporarily blocked attempt to defund Planned Parenthood, and the ICE detention of a breastfeeding mother married to a Marine vet.

This week Fiona is taking a break from the heavy and disheartening news cycle to send an encouraging note out into the world. Please, do what you can to get connected locally. Our communities are what will get us through this horrendous piece of the wrong timeline, and they'll be what help get us out of this, mess, too. So please, find your people. Reach out to your neighbors. Share more hellos, and how are yous. Do your little piece to connect with people and make the world a little softer when it is trying so hard to be cruel.
Love really will come out on top, we just have to keep radiating it. Activating through it. And staying grounded in it, no matter how ragefilled we may get.
Sending love to all of our feral fam and friends' big BIG hearts. We see you. Take a break. The news will still be horrible and here next week.
For now rest easy and know you're loved. And you're doing something to move the world forward just by being kind yourself.
💞(But also, if you do have any $ you can spare right now, Planned Parenthood needs us now more than ever before. ) 💞
In this week’s episode of the Feral Mamas Club Podcast, Fiona breaks down the newly passed FY2025 Congressional Budget Reconciliation Bill or what we’re calling the Bastard Billionaire’s Bill. This sweeping legislation slashes healthcare, guts reproductive rights, and cuts food assistance while handing billions to the ultra-wealthy and massively expanding ICE detention funding.
We unpack:
How the bill harms families, especially caregivers and low-income parents.
The devastating impact on Medicaid and Planned Parenthood.
The staggering $75 billion ICE expansion—and who profits from it.
The hypocrisy of tax cuts for billionaires at the expense of basic human needs.
PLUS: A Bright Spot roundup of key wins for abortion rights from Montana, Wisconsin, and Missouri that remind us the fight is far from over.

This week on The Feral Mamas Club Podcast, Fiona dives into the unholy trifecta of horror: Missouri's Supreme Court drops the hammer on reproductive freedom, Catholic hospitals in California prioritize dogma over pregnant peoples’ health, and the House GOP passes a budget bill that guts care and crushes families. Main Stories Covered:
1. Missouri Supreme Court Reinstates Abortion Ban
Missouri's highest court reinstates the state's abortion ban, overturning lower court rulings and ignoring voters who passed Amendment 3.

This week on The Feral Mamas Club Podcast, we channel righteous rage into focused fire. We start with Adriana Smith, a Black nurse and mother who was declared brain dead after being denied care for headaches, only to be kept on life support against her family’s wishes because she was nine weeks pregnant. Her case is everything that’s wrong with how we treat Black women and bodily autonomy in America.
Missouri lawmakers’ underhanded attempt to undo a pro-choice voter win, and the huge legislative sneak attack that happened while most of us were sleeping: the GOP’s Billionaire Tax Cut Bill and how it’ll impact Planned Parenthood (even though it'll cost us $300 million).
Rage isn’t the end point—it’s the beginning. Let’s use it.

This week on The Feral Mamas Club Podcast, we’re diving into the latest twists and turns in the fight for reproductive rights. From New Jersey holding the line and Michigan striking down a 24-hour waiting period, to South Carolina digging in with a six-week ban, we’ve got the legal rollercoaster covered.
But it doesn’t stop there. We’re also calling out a new and bizarre anti-abortion narrative that’s tying abortion rights to so-called “manhood.” Spoiler: it’s as toxic as it sounds.
And the heartbreak doesn’t end there. We’re also covering the latest stories of family separation at the hands of ICE, including updates on Erika's temporary reprieve, Heidy Sánchez's ongoing separation, and new cases like the heartbreaking story of toddler Maikelys Espinoza Bernal being left in U.S. custody while her parents were sent to two different countries. Plus, we'll discuss the ICE agents who left a 12-year-old boy alone on a Massachusetts sidewalk during an arrest. From Erika’s temporary reprieve to the gut-wrenching tale of a toddler torn from her family and left in foster care for nearly a year, we’re talking about the ways our immigration system continues to fail mothers and kids.
Plus, our bright spot this week: Maryland just did something proactive and practical to expand abortion access, and we’re celebrating this move.
We’re also highlighting some incredible organizations doing the work to protect and expand reproductive rights and support immigrant families.

Hey, Feral Fam. It’s Fiona here – comms professional and feral baby wrangler. If you're anything like me, you're juggling bedtime, burnout, and a browser full of bleak headlines. That's why I’m bringing you this weekly roundup: for the humans who care deeply but don’t have time to sift through 19 think pieces before preschool drop-off. We’re making sense of the news that hits hearts hardest, and finding ways to channel the rage. Because as the goddesses know, there is plenty of it.
In this episode, we’re talking about:
ICE agents waiting outside a maternity room door to deport a new mother
Trump’s team stalling on mifepristone access (because of course)
Rising maternal mortality rates in the U.S.
And a surprising bright spot from Connecticut centering teen reproductive health
Tune in for the news, the fury, and a little hope. We’re not just surviving, mamas – we’re roaring back.
ICE at the Maternity Ward
Erika, fleeing violence in Guatemala, walked through the Arizona desert at eight months pregnant to secure safety for her baby. She gave birth in a Tucson hospital—only to find ICE waiting to deport her outside her room.
Erika was separated from her newborn right after giving birth. Public pressure and intervention from Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs delayed the deportation, but the trauma is unimaginable.
This is a grim reminder that policies meant to protect are often used to harm. We must do better.
Maternal Mortality Rates Keep Rising

Mifepristone Madness
Three Republican-led states (Idaho, Kansas, Missouri) filed a lawsuit to ban telehealth access to mifepristone—a crucial pill used in 60% of U.S. abortion cases.
Trump’s team asked for a dismissal, not because they support access, but because they claim it was filed in the wrong court.
This isn’t backing down; it’s stalling. Stay alert, mamas

Bright Spot: Connecticut's Teen Reproductive Health Bill
The Connecticut state House passed a bill to expand access to birth control and prenatal care for teens—without needing parental consent.
It’s a win for reproductive autonomy, health equity, and the dignity of young mothers.
