The soundtrack, the hallucinations, the werewolves, DAKOTA FANNING, New Moon has it all and more. What is the most iconic needle drop in the movie? Is the gold filter better than the blue filter? Is it pronounced Ah-row or Arrow?!
That's a wrap on season two of fangirls! Thank you so much for listening, and please leave us a review on Apple Podcasts! We will return in 2024 with Eclipse. Follow us on instagram @fangirlspodcast_ to stay up to date.

M.V.A. CANDIDACY SERIES

We are gathered here today to mourn a great loss. For over a decade now, the Fangirls have been staunch and loyal members of Team Edward, but today, October 25th 2023, that membership has passed away. Edward, you lied, gaslit, manipulated, and even laid your cold cold hands on sweet dumb Bella. So it is with a not-so-heavy heart that we say goodbye to Team Edward, and indeed, goodbye to New Moon.
We promise to be less cynical in Eclipse!... probably!

M.V.A. CANDIDACY SERIES
Winona? Did that. Gary Oldman? Big bat.
This week on our Masters of Vampire Arts syllabus, Francis Ford Coppola's lush, iconic, gothic opera: Bram Stoker's Dracula. The Fangirls spend a solid ninety minutes gushing about the dark beauty of this iconic piece of vampire media and the necessity of subtitles.

Listen, break ups are hard. You have to mourn the loss of this person and the entire life you envisioned with them. You're hurt, confused, insecure, and vulnerable. It takes time to move on. It takes time to make friends, to have fun, to feel okay again. But none of that matters if the person who broke your heart gets themselves into a comedy-of-errors involving vampire suicide, international flights, and grand theft auto. Who cares how badly they hurt you or the fact that NONE of this is your fault: you drop everything and go GET UR MAN!
This week the fangirls go to Italy! Will Edward and Bella be reunited? And even if they are, will they survive the Volturi?? And even if they do, will things be really awkward with them now???
Next week join us for our second installment in our MVA Candidacy where will we watch and deep dive into Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). Like what you hear? Pop over to Apple Podcasts and leave us a review!

Ohhhh boy oh boy it's all coming together. Bella has been going through it. She's being hunted by a vengeful, deadly vampire, her werewolf not-boyfriend is always gone hunting said vengeful, deadly vampire, and did she mention she's still not over Edward? The only solution: jump off a cliff.
This week the fangirls get into a juicy chunk of chapters full of warnings, pining, and stinky werewolves. Also just to make sure our bases are covered here, we do not endorse unsupervised cliff jumping during a storm into the angry waters of the Puget Sound.
Next week join us as we reread and deep dive into chapters 18-20. Read along with us! Like what you hear? Pop over to Apple Podcasts and leave us a review!

M.V.A. CANDIDACY SERIES
Class is in session! In our inaugural M.V.A. (Masters of Vampire Arts) Candidacy episode, the fangirls fill in a major vampire blind spot by tackling the iconic 1994 film and season 1 of the AMC+ series Interview with the Vampire.
How fast could Lestat defeat the Cullens in a fight? How is Kirsten Dunst delivering that good of a performance at age 11? And where does Lestat fall on our ranking of hot, mean, blonde vampires? We philosophize, theorize, pontificate, and analyze on these deeply important questions and more. This is a graduate level seminar after all.

We are gathered here today to mourn and grieve for a tremendous loss, the loss of Jacob Black's gorgeous long hair in favor of a buzz cut. May we all find peace during this difficult time.
This week the fangirls finally wolf out as Jacob's new identity as a baby werewolf is revealed. Why does Bella immediately assume her bff is a murderer? What are the rules of Edward's condescending astral projection? Why did Jacob have to cut his hair????? We tackle it all and more.
Next week is our inaugural episode of our MVA (Master of
Vampire Arts) Candidacy! We will watch be discussing the iconic 1994 Interview with the Vampire. The fangirls will be back with New Moon deep dives September 20th.

After a devastating revisit of the infamous breakup and a minor existential crisis, Gabi and Eryn are back, feeling just as torn up inside as Bella holding hands with Jacob at Crosshairs.
But something is amiss. Laurent and Victoria are out there, Charlie is launching into a full scale hunt, and Jacob is ghosting, or should we say... werewofling?!
Next week join us as we reread and deep dive into chapters 11-13. Read along with us! Like what you hear? Pop over to Apple Podcasts and leave us a review!

There's a possibilityyyyyyyyy
Well, it's happened. Edward dumped Bella. This week Gabi and Eryn get heated while revisiting the scene of this crime, so much so the fangirls find themselves questioning... are we still Team Edward??
This section launches into Bella's depression, hallucinations, and fully introduces one of the saga's leads, Jacob Black. If you are an Edward stan please listen at your own risk.
Next week join us as we reread and deep dive into chapters 6-10. Read along with us! Like what you hear? Pop over to Apple Podcasts and leave us a review!

This week Gabi and Eryn dive into the angsty emo 2000s breakup book of your nightmares, the R&J riff queen itself, New Moon.
Themes of life, death, suicide, the afterlife, an unhealthy obsession with self-loathing and withholding, and low-stakes indestructible vampires, New Moon starts off with a bang... kind of. We get into it ALL and more.
Next week, we will read and deep dive into chapters 3-5, ya know, in case you wanna read along :-) Like what you hear?? Give us a positive review on apple podcasts, cowards!! ilysm <3

Gabi and Eryn are joined this week by honorary fangirl Riley McNabb to reminisce on one of cinema's greatest achievements, the blue-tinted masterpiece that is Catherine Hardwicke's Twilight.
We break down the satisfaction level of tofu, go in depth on everyone's favorite vamp-Daddy Carlisle, and shout-out to fellow WWU Theater department alum Billy Burke (aka Charlie). @ Spotify PLEASE put the official soundtrack on your platform WE ARE STARVING!!!!
WE DID IT!!! This supersized, almost two-and-a-half hour mega-episode covers the gripping finale to the first installment of The Twilight Saga.
Gabi and Eryn are joined by Twilight first-timer and vampire fanatic Luke Dooley, but also felt some extra expertise was needed for this momentous episode, and brought in fellow Twihard Erin Smith for a doubly-long double-guest supersize episode.
Can Bella use her wits to outsmart James? Will Edward show emotional intelligence? Will Renee rise to the occasion and be a responsible parent? Find out the answers to all these questions and MORE in this final installment of the Fangirls Twilight recap (Spoiler: the answer is no).
This week, Gabi and Eryn are joined by fellow Firehouse Café Barista, and Bellingham local artist (@rosewaterarts on instagram) Jalyn Rose! As a fan of the movies, it was only appropriate that Jalyn got to dissect the original text behind one of the most iconic scenes ever put to film: the baseball game. Edward continues to have the emotional processing skills of a toddler, Bella is targeted by evil vamp James because ... plot ????, and after Bella delivers a pretty sick burn to Charlie, the star-crossed lovers must separate as the Cullens v James battle royale ramps up. Brb blasting Supermassive Black Hole on repeat for the next few hours.
WE HAVE ALMOST MADE IT THROUGH THE FIRST BOOK! If you've been with us since the beginning, thank you!! Be sure to rate and review on Apple Podcasts (link in instagram bio @fangirlspodcast_), and continue to tune in for the grand finale of this beautiful mess of a novel.
TIME TO TAKE YOUR COMMUNION!!! ***Major Spoiler Warning for all episodes of Midnight Mass***
This week gabi and eryn talk about their latest vampire obsession, Midnight Mass on Netflix. Mike Flanagan - creator and director of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor (eryn and gabi still aren't over that ending.....) is back with another horror anthology series, exploring very important themes of religion, addiction, and hot people.
This week, Gabi and Eryn are joined by long-time friend and fellow vampire fan, Jason Hamann! Jason, many years ago, helped Gabi and Eryn defeat Strahd von Zarovich in the iconic D&D campaign Curse of Strahd, and now the trio reunites and attempt to defeat (really just discuss) SM's confusing and often disturbing writing style. The couple have their first sleepover, at least this the first time Bella is AWARE that they're having a sleepover, Edward flaunts his wealth, and we get some extremely confusing and contradictory lore, as we dive deeper and deeper into Twilight.
This week Gabi and Eryn are joined by the always delightful vampire newbie Jacob Bernado who came PRE ! PARED ! with a plethora of important questions about our star-crossed lovers, which ironically reflects the majority of what Bella and Edward do in these three chapters. How did Bella go on a five mile hike without a water bottle? How far do Edwards super-senses extend? And WHY does Stephanie Meyer - a life-long Mormon woman - insist on using drug and alcohol metaphors throughout this book???
WE'RE BACK! After a short hiatus Gabi and Eryn return to discuss Mina, the vampire from 2004's spectacular flop A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, who not only awakened Gabi's love for sexy bloodsuckers, but also single handedly carried this lackluster film on her back. Once that topic has been exhausted they devolve into discussions of Harry Potter book to movie adaptations, rate the iconic film series, and somehow don't even mention the fact that Robert Pattinson was in both franchises. (Hopefully it goes without saying neither of our hosts support or condone the series' author's words, actions, or beliefs).
Join them next Wednesday when Gabi and Eryn pick Twilight back up and continue on in Bella and Edward's iconic, if not disturbing, epic romance.
***SPOILER ALERT***
This week's episode contains spoiler's for future Twilight books, Twilight films, and abc's LOST. Listen at your own risk.
This week Gabi and Eryn tear apart Stephanie Meyer's disturbing character choices, and (let's face it) mediocre writing abilities, with the help of special guest Hayley McVay - one of our cohost's sibling! What does SM have against kindly bookstore clerks? Will Edward ever go to therapy/anger management? Will reality TV ever be as good as it was during mid-2000s on Vh1? W
