02 Keith Sessions: "Building an Ark: Finding Heaven on Earth"

Introducing our "Keith Sessions" named after Gilbert Keith Chesterton. This one was recorded February 20/25 as a Reflection for our SILC Chesterton Academy students.

In this insightful talk, we explore the deeper spiritual symbolism of Noah's Ark beyond just a boat carrying animals. Dr. Brett Fawcett reveals how the Ark's three-tiered design mirrors other sacred spaces in scripture, like Eden and the Temple. Through mathematical and architectural analysis, we learn the Ark was likely shaped more like a rectangular box or coffin than a boat - symbolizing how we must "die to ourselves" to enter new life with God. The dimensions (30x50x300 cubits) themselves point to Christ and the Holy Spirit. Most powerfully, the talk explains how the Ark represents heaven on earth - not as a perfect paradise, but as anywhere God dwells when we submit to His will. Drawing parallels from Mother Teresa to modern monastics, we learn that "all the way to heaven is heaven, because Christ is the way." This fresh perspective on the familiar Noah story challenges us to find heaven not in comfort, but in obedience and self-sacrifice.#biblical #christianity #noahsark #spirituality #theology #chestertonacademy #classicaleducation #catholiceducation
