
It's natural to set goals for ourselves. But there's two different types of goal setting:
-Healthy goal setting that brings us fulfillment while allowing room for unexpected opportunities
-Rigid life planning that blocks any other plan the universe might have for us and skipping the joy of the journey along the way
If you don't reach your goal...will you be okay? Can you die happy? If the answer is no, it may be time to restructure your goal. Can you make your goal about the feeling along the way rather than the finished product?
In this episode I discuss not only how we can redirect our goals to make ourselves happy as opposed to the need to achieve based on external validation, but I cover how our core beliefs about ourselves lead to our self-fulfilling prophecies.
