The Twisted Childhood Universe continues with the third entry, "Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare", which is a horror take on the classic Peter Pan stories and while the budgets keep increasing with these, the part of me really wishes they just embrace the stupidity and campy fun of this franchise.

Man of Steel was the first attempt at a reboot of Superman and was the first film of the now defunct DC Extended Universe/Snyderverse (DCEU) and it has been the subject of a lot of criticism from movie fans, DC fans, superhero movie fans and Superman fans on both sides and even if you're on either side, this is an interesting film to talk about and defend or hate.

Sypnosis
With the imminent destruction of Krypton, their home planet, Jor-El (Russell Crowe) and his wife seek to preserve their race by sending their infant son to Earth. Another Simple Favor is the sequel to the big 2018 surprises, A Simple Favor and sees the return of Paul Feig as well as Anna Kendrick and the (highly controversial) Blake Lively and considering it's taken 6 years to come out as well as the fact that this is released through streaming on Amazon Prime, I was interested in but also a little skeptical.
Having now seen it, it's a pretty watchable sequel but the first movie is obviously beautiful. Enjoy my review as I break down this little sequel and my thoughts on it.

Sypnosis
A chronicle of the life of one of the darker Marvel characters, the mysterious Jessica Jones. When a tragedy puts an end to her short-lived career as a superhero, Jessica settles in New York City and opens her own detective agency, called Alias Investigations, which seems to be called into cases involving people who have special abilities. Suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome, Jessica wants to do good, but her primary interest isn't in saving the world, it's saving her apartment and getting through each day. Based on a graphic novel intended for adults, this is not a superhero story for the kids.

The Baby in the Basket is the latest low budget B-horror movie with a mix of nunsploitation throwback and this is one I went in pretty curious about but not knowing much. Odessa is the latest little rock musical that was released on Hulu and it was also an attempt for Sadie Sink to yet again branch out her acting muscles from the world of Stranger Things. And while this one has gotten mixed results by some people, I am in the weird camp that found something here. After the disappointing failure of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace and how it nearly killed the Superman franchise for the course of 20 years, we go to 2006 and we were treated back on film with “Superman Returns” and here we have a movie that I initially hated at first on TV, but over the years I’ve grown to like this one for what it is.

Sypnosis
Seeing the United States and the Soviet Union engaged in a nuclear arms race that could lead to Earth's destruction, Superman (Christopher Reeve) decides that he must take action. He collects all the nuclear warheads from the world and throws them into space. Meanwhile, Superman's nemesis, Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman), has broken out of prison with a new scheme. He clones Superman with radioactive material to create Nuclear Man (Mark Pillow), a being just as powerful as the man of steel.

Sypnosis
Computer programmer Gus Gorman (Richard Pryor) is hired by financial tycoon Ross Webster (Robert Vaughn) to seize control of a weather satellite and annihilate Colombia's coffee crop. When Superman (Christopher Reeve) manages to thwart the plan, Webster commands Gorman to use the satellite to locate kryptonite, the Man of Steel's mortal weakness. But a missing unknown element in the kryptonite -- replaced by Gorman with tar -- causes an unintended side effect when presented to Superman.

Sypnosis
Superman (Christopher Reeve) foils the plot of terrorists by hurtling their nuclear device into outer space, but the bomb's shock waves free the Kryptonian villain General Zod (Terence Stamp) and his henchmen Ursa (Sarah Douglas) and Non (Jack O'Halloran) from their imprisonment.
