#58: do you have a third place?

In sociology, the third place refers to the social surroundings that are separate from the two usual social environments: your home & where you work. We’ve found that in our post grad lives, especially with the lasting effects of COVID, these places are harder and harder to come by and we are itching for some community! Topics covered in this week’s episode are:

  • The effect remote work has on our first and second places

  • Our potential third places: social clubs, church, bars, coffee shops, and gyms

  • Consistency is key: you’ve gotta put in the work to become a regular

Think about it, all your favorite tv shows have them - The Alibi Room on Shameless, Central Perk on Friends, Luke’s Diner on Gilmore Girls - shouldn’t you?
