We dig just a bit deeper this week in our quest for a better understanding of what Scripture has to say about the doctrine of Hell.
This short series on Hell will be a bit different than studies we have put together before. This is a topic and all three of us are not well-versed in... yet. Today, we review the top paradigms for Hell and react to them authentically. We look at the verses that are used for each view and discuss the traditions of Hell that we were raised in. Then, the next episode will dive deeper as we hope to come to a deeper understanding of the doctrine of Hell, according the Scriptures.
We discuss concepts that Kathy Escobar brings to the table in a book called Faith Shift. Through this lens, we can view faith in God, as presented in the Scriptures, as something that shifts, grows, and shrinks. Considering that Christianity is based on our faith in Jesus Christ, it is worth every effort to understand the ins and outs of the role that faith plays in our lives.
Finally, we sit down with John Douglass. John is a leader in Men at the Cross, a therapist, and a Christian brother. We delve into many topics, but among them, we discuss therapy in Christian culture, the role of shame, and the balance of small and large group church gatherings.
This week, we sit down and share life with one of our favorite guests yet, John Chaffee. John is a Spiritual Director, Author of 5 books, Podcaster, and Cohort Leader.

He received a degree in Biblical Studies from Eastern University, then received his MDiv from Palmer Seminary, and then completed his ThM from Princeton Theological Seminary.
In this episode, we cover a lot of ground. We cover the stages of faith, some pitfalls with the modern conception of the church, the nuances of discipleship, and the need for transparency towards growth.
If you would like to learn more about John's ministries or would love to support the work that he is doing, please visit his website here for more information.
This week, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Todd Maples. Todd has served as a Pastor and Elder in multiple churches and is currently leading a Men's Study through Romans. During this conversation, we discuss Todd's testimony, the privilege of not being raised in any particular Christian tradition, and how to have a daily Christlike mindset.

Based on the books The Critical Journey by Janet Hagberg and Robert A. Guelich, we discuss the stages of faith that each Christian goes through. When we can't get together as often as we like to record, we have too much to catch up to narrow it down to one topic. We evaluate the intentions of the worship music industry, discuss the boundaries of the liberties we have as Christians, and the development of Christian apologetics in the media.
