For the misfits who wore their hearts on their sleeves and their headphones in their ears—our scars are a part of us, and our stories are worth sharing. Here, we embrace the angst, the nostalgia, and the soundtracks that shaped us. We're not just the kids who grew up on emo and pop-punk; we're the adults who carry that music in our souls, still finding meaning in every riff and lyric. This is a space for healing, laughing, remembering, and redefining what it means to grow up while never letting go of the music that helped us survive. Welcome to Emo Kids Anonymous Podcast

67: Lift The Curse: Are Emo, Metalcore & Buttrock Siblings? Plus The State of Modern Rock & Music Consumption | Emo Kids Anonymous

Ladies and gentlemen, the first metal adjacent band in Emo Kids Anonymous history...Lift The Curse! In todays interview, Jon and Ryan of Lift the Curse discuss their journey as a metalcore band, their live performance strategies, and the evolution of their music. They share insights into their songwriting process, musical influences, and the concept of 'Divorced Dad Rock' aka Buttrock. The guys reflect on their experiences playing with notable acts in the rock metal and emo scene. They also fill us in on upcoming and future projects, including their upcoming fifth album and their new single relased TODAY. The band discusses their creative process, unique collaborations, and the challenges of live performances as a 2 piece. They delve into their approach to covering classic songs, the dynamics of working with different musicians, and their innovative techniques for producing music videos. These guys do a video for every song, insane work ethic. To top it all off though, the fellas promised to lift the San Diego Sports Curse so I got that going for me!
