For 20 years in the Navy, Tina carried the heavy responsibility of delivering news of sudden loss to military families. Nothing, however, could prepare her for when tragedy struck her own family. On March 14, 2003, Tina’s six-year-old niece passed away suddenly and unexpectedly while sitting beside her mother. Perfectly healthy and without warning, her death left Tina, her family, and the world watching in shock as the story spread across national news.

Out of this life-altering grief came Tina’s powerful book, The Lightworker’s Guide to Healing Grief. In it, she shares not only her personal journey but also the universal truth that everyone is grieving something. From Pain to Transformation: LizBeth de Sá on Healing Through Internal Family Systems

In this episode of Emerge & Empower Podcast TV, Dr. LinJ welcomes LizBeth de Sá, educator, writer, and certified Level 3 Internal Family Systems (IFS) practitioner. Born in England to Indian parents navigating poverty and racism, LizBeth’s childhood was marked by both struggle and the seeds of resilience. Her love of learning carried her to Oxford, into a teaching career across four countries, and later through the challenges of divorce and loss.

It was in her deepest emotional pain that LizBeth discovered IFS therapy, a model that integrates meditation, self-awareness, and trauma healing. Now, as a practitioner and conflict mediator, she helps clients transform childhood wounds into portals for growth, joy, and wholeness.

Together, we explore:
• How IFS reveals the mind’s “parts” and the healing role of the Self.
• Why creativity, joy, and laughter are vital in recovery.
• How racial, cultural, and inherited trauma can be transformed.
• The spiritual dimensions of IFS and what it teaches about identity and healing.
