Embracing Change talking through Trauma with Mick Rowe

On this episode of Embracing Change talking through Trauma, guest Mick Rowe dive into the stigma about suicide. Listen to Mick’s story…

“Suicide Sucks!” is a podcast created by Mick Rowe, based in Penistone, UK, aiming to openly discuss and reduce the stigma surrounding suicide. The podcast features candid conversations with guests who share their personal experiences related to suicide, fostering a supportive environment for listeners. Notably, these discussions take place in Mick’s camper van, providing a unique and intimate setting.

The podcast is available on Spotify under the title “Suicide Sucks: Still Here To Tell The Tale.” In addition to the podcast, Mick produced a documentary with the same name, which was screened at Penistone Arts Week and raised £500 for the young people’s suicide prevention charity, Papyrus.

Mick’s motivation for these projects stems from the loss of her brother to suicide in 1996. Through her work, she aims to create a platform where individuals can discuss suicide openly, thereby reducing the associated stigma and providing support to those affected.
