Frustrated that he can’t get answers from Claire, John stakes out her apartment only to learn things are about to get even worse for himself. Back at the store, John is surprised by a menacing man who leaves an unexpected gift.
John admits to Bradley that he has feelings for Claire as Bradley unveils his plans to transform the waterbed store. On his way to Claire’s, John is forced to meet with Schmidt who demands his money. Later, a distraught Mary calls John when she sees him appear on the nightly TV news.
John decides to approach life differently, hoping it will change his fate. This leads to a dramatic confrontation with a gun-wielding criminal. John convinces Claire to have dinner with him, but the evening does not go as planned.
Now that Claire’s first prediction has come true, an unnerved John asks wanna-be-psychic Mary to help him find Claire. When Claire proves she can authentically see the future, John reveals his fate to Bradley, who offers some unexpected advice. Schmidt makes another unwelcome visit, looking for his pound of flesh.
Day One
John meets Claire, a beautiful psychic, at his sister Mary’s Tarot party. She gives a disbelieving John seven absurd predictions. The next day, John meets Bradley, a retail intern, and receives two unwelcome visits. The first from Doctor Schmidt, who has come looking for his share of profits from their health insurance scam. The second is from another sinister tormentor that John first saw at Claire’s Tarot reading.
