DPP 2025 Predictions: 'Deploy or Die', AI romance is over, we're all copyright lawyers now, and power shifts to creator economy

The DPP 2025 Predictions report published in February 2025 shows an industry grappling with a new phase of artificial intelligence development and implementation in media, competition from the creator economy, stark cyber threats, an innovation recession, and a bullishness about the data monetisation opportunity. In this episode we hear from ITN's Tami Hoffman and Zixi's Alan Young, both part of the experienced cohort who helped develop the statements, about which of the eight DPP 2025 Predictions resonated most with them, as well as provide some context and commentary about what it all means for media, news, broadcasting and entertainment.

Has technology transformation actually made the media industry more secure? Assessing The State of Media Technology Security 2024

The State of Media Technology Security 2024, a report published by the DPP in September 2024, reveals the measures media companies and technology providers are taking to protect themselves, their partners, and the broader entertainment and broadcasting ecosystem. In this episode of the DPP podcast we catch up with research contributors and subject matter experts to explore some of the report's key findings: are technology vendors being too bullish when assessing their own level of cyber security, and are media companies being unfair in the somewhat unfavourable views of their suppliers?
