Hello and welcome to this month's Does It Adapt! This time, we are exploring a world of animated arcs and absolutely amazing action with anime! Shows like One Piece and Yu Yu Hakasho have came into then limelight. Many different animes have been adapted to the silver screen but not all have been as successful as their 2D counterparts. Considering these shows are based of the illustrated medium of Manga, one would hope that these stories would be given the best treatment once made into real life. However, that's not always the case. So will these live action versions of these cartoonish, crafted creations become credible? Or will these shows have their names written in the Death Note? Hello and welcome to Does It Adapt?! This month, we are tackling more adaptions of the beloved horror author, Stephen King! On this episode, we will be swimming into a sea of suspense, surrealism and slumber with The Shining and Doctor Sleep! Cherished by many, Stanley Kubrick's take on the classical novel has been seen as a masterpiece by many a viewer. However, according to the the book's own author, Kubrick meddled with the overarching story too much and lead to Mr. King's disdain of the film. Enter Mike Flanagan, who directed and helped bring to life the sequel novel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep. King has shown his admiration for entry and has praised its direction. We discuss our thoughts on both films, differences from the book to screen and address why we feel Mike Flanagan's approach to the sequel reinforced Kubrick's vision to make both films a force to be reckoned with. So will all work and no play make us a couple of dull boys or do we see a terrific and triumphant turn of two tumultuous titans come forth to make us scream in terror?

But does this adaption succeed in starting a flame in our hearts or does this radically radiation ridden journey experience its own Fallout?

On this weeks episode, we dive into the 8-bit world of Ready Player One!
This very popular novel from 2011 is set in a dystopian world everyone uses the OASIS as an escape!
The OASIS, similar to todays vr headsets, allows its user to visit fantastical worlds of pop culture and fantasy.
This book is considered to be amazing to most but not all the same feelings are shared about the movie adapted by Steven Speilberg.
So will this pixelated, pioneering, pop culture power trip succeed? or will the plethora of pointless, pathetic cameos and problematic plot changes poison the original product?
Warning! This episode will contain major spoilers for the books and strong language!
