We have a big show for you this week! First, we've got a boat-load of news about the Future of Doctor Who, including the end of the Disney+ deal, updates on The War Between the Land and the Sea, announcement of a 2026 Christmas special, and a mention of the new animated pre-school series. Plus, we talk about the passing of Nabil Shaban and early reviews of the Season 13 Blu-Ray.
Then we dive into this week's topic - our review of the Tom Baker's debut in 1975, "Robot" written by Terrence Dicks, directed by Christopher Barry, and produced by Barry Letts.
"It's a new episode . . . but the moment has been prepared for." This week Ashley, Josh and Alan visit the Pharos Project to discuss the final Fourth Doctor story, "Logopolis" written by the recently departed Christopher H. Bidmead, directed by Peter Grimwade, and starring Tom Baker, Matthew Waterhouse, Sarah Sutton, Janet Fielding, and Anthony Ainley. And let me tell ya . . . this one definitely divided opinion.
But first we talk about the state of the franchise after the inexplicable Billie Piper cliffhanger and where the show might go from there, plus some possible missing episodes news!
This week Ashley, Josh and Alan pay another visit to the world of Big Finish, this time for the debut of their new Thirteenth Doctor line! "Vampire Weekend" written by Tim Foley and directed by Ken Bentley, stars Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill stepping back into their roles as the Thirteenth Doctor and Yasmine Khan. It's Gina's hen-do and her Maid of Honour has booked a large manor in the Peak District. All her friends should be here - including Yasmin Khan, who's been mysteriously quiet whilst away on her travels. It promises to be a great weekend -- until the Doctor crashes the party!
First, we talk about two events we held in recent weeks and the return of Doctor Who to BBC Television!!!! (okay in the form of reruns of the Matt Smith episodes on BBC 3, but still....)
This week we take our TARDIS back to the swingin' 60s to review the first big screen film Dr. Who and the Daleks! The film was written by Milton Subotsky (based on Terry Nation's original script) and starred Peter Cushing, Roberta Tovey, Roy Castle and Jennie Linden. Dr. Who, his two granddaughters Susan and Barbara, and Barbara's boyfriend Ian, travel to the planet Skaro and get involved in a battle between the Daleks and the Thals!
But first we talk about Dragon Con, some Big Finish news, the passing of Christopher H. Bidmead, and the future of the franchise!
This week we feature the second of our LIVE panel at Stellar Fest recorded in April of 2025! This is Part 2 of a discussion in which we take the lowest-rated stories from every Doctor and review each one -- and hopefully find something good to say about them! In this installment we talk about stories from Doctors 3, 5, 6, 7. 10, 11, and 12! That's an awful lot to cover in 45 minutes but somehow we make it work!
In April 2025, Josh, Ashley and Alan appeared at the Stellar Fest convention in Atlanta, GA! Presented here is the first of two panels in which we review the Bottom 5 stories for every Doctor as ranked by IMDB and Doctor Who Magazine. We talk about the stories that fans routinely rank the lowest and we find positive things to say about them! Every Doctor Who story has something to love about it, right? We put that to the test!
This week Josh, Ashley and Alan revisit one of the modern classics - "Heaven Sent" from Series 9 starring Peter Capaldi, written by Steven Moffat, and directed by Rachel Talalay. The Doctor goes through his own personal hell as he deals with the death of Clara Oswald. This episode is frequently touted as being one of the best of the entire series; does it live up to the hype?
But first we talk about recent comments in the press from script writer Mark Gatiss. Are the three of us the "grumpy old fans" that Mark is addressing?
This week Ashley, Josh and Alan review the 1966 story "The Savages", recently released in a newly-animated reconstruction. "The Savages" is written by Ian Stuart Black, is directed by Christopher Barry, and stars William Hartnell, Jackie Lane, and Peter Purves. It's a particularly strong story for all three main cast with some interesting moral problems to solve.
But first, the news -- the future of Doctor Who production, changes in streaming, and some extended media product releases!
This week Ashley, Josh and Alan revisit the second and final season featuring Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor and reflect on the season overall. What were some of the great, good and less-good moments? How do we rate each episode differently than we did upon first viewing in light of the season as a whole? How does this season reflect the era overall (as short as it is)?
First, though, we dig into the news, and talk about the trailer for The War Between the Land and the Sea, an upcoming Big Finish release featuring Sarah Jane and Harry, a new book project from Sophie Aldred, and a revival of the Eighth Doctor Adventures from the original Wilderness Years!
This week we wrap up Season 2 / Series 15 / Season 41 with a review of the season finale, "The Reality War." But this episode ended up so much bigger than we ever expected (well, we did sort of know what was coming), so there was a LOT to talk about. This episode is a recording of a LIVE show that we did on Facebook and YouTube, where we addressed comments and questions from viewers. Thank you to everyone who watched and chatted with us!
We would love to hear from you! What did you think of "The Reality War" and Season 2 overall? Let us know let us know by emailing us at doctorwhoatoz@gmail.com or by dropping a comment on our socials!
The season is rapidly careening towards its end, so this week we're reviewing the first half of the 2-part finale, "Wish World," and ..... this one really came close to breaking us! After a stellar season, we really found this one frustrating. RTD is RTDing hard, y'all. This is probably our most heated discussion yet!
First, though we have some quick news about the new spin-off series The War Between the Land and the Sea and an upcoming Big Finish release that we're looking forward to!
We really want to hear what YOU thought of this episode! If you've got thoughts about "Wish World" that you'd like to share with us, just by email us at doctorwhoatoz@gmail.com or dropping a comment on our socials!
This week Ashley, Josh and Alan have a very spirited, passionate (ie heated) discussion about Episode 6 of Doctor Who Series 15 (Season 2), "The Interstellar Song Contest"! We talk about the implications of the episode, the effect events had on the Doctor, the music (of course), and more. But okay, yeah, we also talk about the surprise appearance of [REDACTED] and the unexpected bi-generation of [REDACTED]! We also delve into where the season arc might be going in the upcoming 2-part finale!
We really want to hear what you thought of this episode! Just by email us at doctorwhoatoz@gmail.com or dropping a comment on our socials!
This week we steer our TARDIS to a seemingly unassuming barber shop in Lagos, Nigeria for "The Story and the Engine", a weird tale about a god, safe spaces, the power of storytelling, and a huge mechanical space spider. It's Episode 5 of Season 2 and it's written by Inua Ellams and directed by Makalla McPherson.
Please let us know what you thought of this episode by emailing us at doctorwhoatoz@gmail.com or dropping a comment on our socials!
This week Josh, Ashley and Alan dissect the newest episode of Doctor Who Season 2 - "Lucky Day" written by Pete McTighe and directed by Peter Hoar. It's a Doctor-lite episode, but that's the only thing light about it! It deals with some very heavy issues in some very surprising ways, and we analyze it from every angle.
Please let us know what you thought of "Lucky Day" and we'll share your comments on our next show! Email us at doctorwhoatoz@gmail.com or drop a comment on our socials or on your favorite podcast platform!
Doctor Who Season 2 (Series 15 / Season 41) has reached its third episode, the widely-acclaimed "The Well," written by Russell T Davies and Sharma Angel-Walfall and directed by Amanda Brotchie. Does our opinion match the praise that has been heaped on this episode? We liked it, but . . . did we like it? Check out this episode to find out!
First, though, we have some feedback from listeners about Episode 2, "Lux"!

This week we're "beamin' at ya" a day early with our review of this week's episode, "Lux," the second episode of Season 2 (Series 15), written by Russell T Davies. In it, an animated character called Mr. Ring-a-Ding comes to life in Miami 1952. But Ring-a-Ding is so much more than just a character from a film short!
This is an unedited conversation between three friends and Doctor Who fans in which we discuss the episode in depth and speculate wildly on some crazy theories we've come up with!

This week we review "The Robot Revolution", the kick-off to Season 2 of Doctor Who! We dig into all the good and all the bad of the season premiere. How does it stack up to the debut of Season 1? What do we think of our new companion, Belinda?
But first, we spend a few minutes remembering a Doctor Who legend, Jean Marsh, who sadly passed away at the age of 90.
Because of issues with the audio recording and delays in being able to download the recordings from the cloud, this recording is going out completely unedited, so please bear with us! You're getting a pure, unfiltered Doctor Who conversation between friends!

We've been talking about relaunch points for Doctor Who the past few weeks (first "Rose" and then "The Eleventh Hour") so we thought we would go back to the first time that the show completely reinvented itself -- way back in 1970 -- when "Spearhead From Space" literally tranformed Doctor Who into a totally new show with a new cast, new format, and broadcasting in colour for the first time. "Spearhead" was a game-changer. We give you an in-depth review of the masterpiece that relaunched Doctor Who.
First, though, we cover some news, then we talk about our weekend at the Stellar Fest convention!
Let us know what you thought of this episode! We'd love to hear from you! If you've enjoyed the show, please leave a comment, review, or rating wherever you're listening! If there's a particular story or topic you'd like to hear us discuss, please let us know at doctorwhoatoz@gmail.com!
Just one week after celebrating the 20th Anniversary of "Rose," we have the 15th Anniversary of the original broadcast of "The Eleventh Hour." This episode was a pivot point for the series, as it moves into a whole new era with a new showrunner, a new Doctor, and a new companion. How does it perform this monumental task, and how does it stack up to "Rose"? Give us a listen and find out!
First, though, we take a look at the news, including the announcement of episode titles for Season 2 and the new album by Peter Capaldi!
What are your recollections of "The Eleventh Hour"? When did you first see it? We'd love to hear from you! If you've enjoyed the show, please leave a comment, review, or rating wherever you're listening! It's been EXACTLY 20 years (okay, almost!) since "Rose" first broadcast on BBC One, bringing Doctor Who back to the airwaves and relaunching the phenomenon for a whole new generation. Everything was riding on this one episode! Luckily the production team knocked it out of the park! We take a fresh look at this episode one of the most important chapters in Doctor Who history. Does it live up to its reputation?
