The Hidden Dangers in Your Multivitamin: Toxic Buildup, Cheap Synthetic Fillers, and the Supplements to Never Take
Highlights ten common vitamins and minerals that may be more harmful than helpful when taken in their cheap or synthetic forms. These include synthetic versions of vitamins A, B9 (folic acid), B12, D, and beta-carotene, along with minerals such as calcium carbonate, ferrous sulfate (iron), magnesium oxide, and copper. Many of these are poorly absorbed, can create imbalances in the body, or may even become toxic when not balanced properly with other nutrients like zinc and magnesium. The widespread use of these inferior supplements is linked to their low production costs and high profitability, which is why they dominate much of the supplement market. Instead of relying on these synthetic forms, the recommendation is to obtain essential nutrients primarily from whole, nutrient-dense foods such as liver, egg yolks, fish oil, and dark leafy greens, which provide more bioavailable and balanced nutrition.
