The Red Velvet Cafe (RVC) team of two aka (Kevin Norris & Dj Tuc) were presented the opportunity to participate in the 2023 "Homage to Black Music Student Body Assembly" at the city of Anderson's renowned T.L. Hanna High School (famous names like Chadwick Boseman, Coach Harold Jones, James Robert RADIO Kennedy should come to mind) for this years Black History music celebration courtesy of teacher& producer  of the event Camille Richardson. So the popular RVC DJ & M.C. were tapped to host the Hip Hop roots & culture  portion of this prestigious event. The latter part of our set was captured live an instant Truskool hit with the student body & it went a lil sumthing like thissssss!!!!

This edition of the RVC LIVE from th HAUS OF ART features  performances by the popular upcoming lyrical Anderson S.C. phenom JAISON WADE also ATL's very own seasoned Southern Soul crooner know as POKA JONES pops in the Red Velvet Cafe to remind everyone to count all their blessings. Turning it up to the max that night was the energetic poet & lyricist The BOSTON MASSACRE aka the DMX of poetry. As the art of Truskool Deejaying begins to get resurrected for the craft & appreciation it deserves & the Trap Dj has begun to fade these days, just as quickly  as the new technology allowed it flourish. Dj T-Rock returns to turn up the heat just in time for the summer with a wide variety of classic hits new & old for the people who enjoy real skilled mixing & blends. This duel threat dj/artist steps back up on the 1's & 2's to eradicate any notions from haters & detractors that he's washed up. With almost 3 decades in the entertainment biz & still going, I'd say he's been tried and proven having withstood the test of time. This one I decided to release in honor of my late great friend Michael Collier, who stage name was known throughout the upstate of S.C.  as the performing artist K-TRIK-E. Being a true consistent performer, always doing what he loved, working the audience & his craft every-time he grabbed a mic, either on stage or hyping the crowd, sometimes even when I was on the mix at a party. Shawty So Sexy was originally released as a commercial radio dance record back in early 2020 featuring a few guest artist. I remixed it for him, giving it a headnodding Truskool boom bap  & Soulful feel by diggin in the crates. It never was officially released by his record distribution company Sugo Music due to alot of political red tape. He liked  the mix  basically because I took his track it in a whole different direction & vibe.  Keep in mind I had done remixes for him before. Well previously unreleased here it is, YOU DECIDE!

This is part 2 the sequel of the magnificent Red Velvet Cafe show at Haus Of Art  on 8-20-21. Things really got turned up a notch as did the host Kevin Norris being the axis of the fun & mayhem.  Shout out to Cros Lux & Gino X from THE BLACK TABLE show whom had cameras rolling to capture all the action LIVE during this one. If you think part-one was a roller coaster ride then part-two will really take you to the max. The RVC just made its second appearance this weekend past on the newest artistic creative platform in the city of Anderson S.C. known as the Haus Of Art founded by Mr. Patro Ulmer. One of the best shows of the year since the start of our joint venture began there. The energy was highly festive right from start to finished  as the ladies rocked with Kev & I all evening bringing the hype. Communique a late1997 ANDERSON, SC hip-hop duo comprised back then of emcee' & producers Allen (Phat da ILL Speaka) Galloway & Landrick (Prafessa Chops) Pond. They first appeared on a record I produced titled "Ask a Nigga from da Southside" & later Cool Chuck & I featured them on the Kackalakie Compilation. This banger was included originally on the album. So 25 years later I decide to celebrate them & their contributions with a tribute remix for the A.N.D. hip hop historical music archives. Enjoy!!

This record originally was featured on our 1996 debut "Southsyde Funk" Album produced by Cool Chuck & myself aka Dj Tuc known collectively then as the duo titled South Movement from Anderson, SC aka da A.N.D. As Cool Chuck will cosign it was joints like this that we shopped back then to record companies that captured the ears of the R&B Singer Pebbles at her then label Savvy Records in Atlanta GA. To commemorate the 25th year anniversary of this unreleased hip-hop gem. I decided to do a special 2021 Fulwer St. Mix for the song "I Got My Own Thang" . In case you didn't know Fulwer Street is our old Southside neighborhood hangout spot where the good, bad & ugly went down. Jaison (Wade) Geer is not just an artist but has the soul of a lyrical emcee from the city of ANDerson aka da A.N.D. I met him over a year ago. Incredible Wade is what I dubbed him. He has a deep appreciation, love & respect for real hip hop and its pioneers. I don't just work with anybody but our chemistry is uncanny had to collab with this young brother. This Dj super mega mix crew know as Smooth Groove Dj's from GA, is composed of 5 talented southern Dj's over flowing with diverse skill sets.Dj Smoove B,Dj Quiet Storm,Dj Mop,Dj Master Q, and Dj E-40 heads up the team. Alot of come lately Dj's seemed to think Djing NOW is all about doing gimmicky tricks on stage since the advent of high priced digital mixers & since digi vinyl was introduced in the last decade. As if Dj's down south don't put in work. What they forget is there was an art and craft before all this new technology existed. Dj E-40 reminds all, tricks are good for a contest but not for rocking parties. Now back to the basics on how we do it down south!!!

Another successful Red Velvet Poetry Café Show was hosted on 1-19-19 in the A.N.D. (Anderson, S.C.) at the All New 1421 which is under the new management of Cory (Cadillac) Hatton. There was rain on the outside, but nevertheless poetry and skills still shined extremely bright on the inside. Red Velvet Café regulars like Blazin Anne came to wreck shop on stage as usual, along with a lot of talented newcomers to our stage like conscience performers David Metcalfe, Selah Blak Sol and Young Pharaoh not to mention the gorgeous and talented sultry songstress Ms Charity out of Simpsonville, S.C. The lovely Tanya Stewart serenaded the audience as always with her grown and sexy soulful voice to close the show this time around. Hardcore Rappers Typhoon and Killa represented for the very first time under the Velvet Café lights. Tru Skool vintage veteran battle emcee Easy E showed why he is still a force to be reckoned with even up till present. Addressing issues most are afraid to say on stage behind the microphone. The Red Velvet Café stays true to its original roots that host Kevin Norris conceived over a decade ago. If you’re looking for change, positive vibes and classic hip hop, rock, soul and funk.
