Diversity Rocks Episode 6 - Let's Talk Good Girl Deprogramming

In this episode, Liz talks with Michelle Minnikin, psychologist, leadership coach, and author of Good Girl Deprogramming, about breaking free from the “good girl” rules that hold women back.Michelle shares how deeply ingrained expectations - being polite, helpful, and never “too much” - shape women’s confidence and choices from childhood through to leadership. Together, Liz and Michelle explore what it takes to unlearn those patterns and build lives rooted in authenticity, not approval. This honest, funny, and empowering conversation invites listeners to reflect on their own conditioning and start rewriting the story. It’s about rebellion - it’s about permission: permission to feel, to want, and to show up fully as yourself. Whether you’re a recovering people-pleaser or a leader who wants to build more inclusive cultures, this episode offers clarity, compassion, and courage.
