Lael's voice is as soothing as her message as she speaks about being more aware as a parent, knowing oneself, cultivating curiosity within discomfort and a reminder that pain and growth inhabit the same realm. Lael drops some insights that are so easy to digest and she explains how our inherited belief systems can be observed and unraveled rather than inhibit one's ability to live with greater awareness. Establishing family values and following our hearts in setting an example for our family.

Ant was a Southern Californian native who filmed, edited and skated with the pro's, he then utilised these skills to edit the aspects of himself that no longer served. A relationship separation extended Ant's self exploration and he immersed himself in reading material and podcasts so that he could continue to evolve. Ant speaks about his worldly explorations and how those experiences continue to direct his character to this day. A true gentleman, sushi wizard and restaurateur who takes great care in his staff and his customers. You can find Ant at either of his restaurants, Jan Juc's Bird Rock cafe or at Roku Den preparing the most delicious Japanese cuisine with the same passion and commitment that he administers thought each day. Hailing from Auckland New Zealand Matt Williams developed the street smarts and relevant skills that would later serve disengaged youth, through his community work in youth justice. Matt and I chat about his learnings that he developed in the ring as a fighter, his experiences as a coach, the importance of purpose & shared purpose, the increase in female attendance in the gym and the benefits gained by the students in his gym that have enabled them to develop, grow and expand with humility and confidence.
44 year old Matt Kofoed refers to himself as a back pocket plumber, which is a phrase coined in Aussie Rules Football circles that characterises a person with a blue collar work ethic and someone who gets the job done without any fanfare. Matt was actually a plumber, and actually a back pocket footballer recruited by the Collingwood Football Club in the 1990's thus fulfilling a childhood dream. Matt has been considered a "bit different" and someone who always asks a lot of questions, he doesn't accept the normal narrative just because it's normal. This trait of constant questioning served Matt when he was diagnosed with a tumor in his back that sent him into a completely different trajectory where he and wife Lisa are continuing to set themselves up on a sustainable 7 acres in the regional Victorian town of Winchelsea. Matt note's that “A healthy ecosystem aligned with nature creates living soil that produces nutritious food sustainably. You are what you eat”
In this episode, I cover off on how we mistakenly observe and reflect on the events and results of our lives to then validate how we think and feel about ourselves. How our predominant thoughts create feelings and emotions which in turn drives behavior (actions), our behaviors produce results and outcomes that we then reflect upon to validate our thoughts. This cycle of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, results, reflection and then looping back around to thoughts is a key concept to look into if one is to improve results and outcomes. In order to evolve and head towards greater possibility ie relationships, finances, health, career, business, creative, fun & adventure etc, acknowledging that our predominant thoughts, is actually one of the key foundations to facilitating change. Who we believe ourselves to be (self image) is another foundational principal that drives our thoughts, which ignites the cycle towards feelings, behavior, results and then reflection. This monologue scratches the surface on really large topics and the intent is to begin a "conversation" about how we can intervene in the the cycle to produce different outcomes in our lives.
