Our guest Yali Sassoon is a data expert with over 20 years of experience in the field. His fascination with the power of numbers began during his university studies in science and the philosophy of science, where he recognized the impact of using data to expand human knowledge. Yali started his career as a consultant, focusing on how organizations utilize data. It was during this time that he worked with a wind turbine client and saw firsthand how his analysis in Excel transformed their manufacturing process and prompted significant business process changes. This experience fueled his passion for using numbers to drive business transformation.
Around 10 to 11 years ago, Yali teamed up with his co-founder, Alex, and became captivated by behavioral data. The release of the iPhone and the subsequent explosion of the app ecosystem fascinated Yali, as it presented new opportunities to collect granular data on user behavior across various digital platforms. This ability to gather vast and detailed datasets on user engagement excited Yali, leading him to establish Snowplow in 2012. Since then, Yali has been dedicated to harnessing the power of data to drive innovation and enhance the way businesses operate.
