EP27| I have a question... (PART 2)

Welcome back!! This episode is in 2 parts.

You guys asked the questions (via insta story) and WE ANSWERED!

In this episode, I chat to Katie McNamara from Single Sounds Podcast for a candid chat about modern dating. We explore everything from approaching people in real life to dealing with ghosting and maintaining healthy relationships. We share our own experiences and practical advice - this episode will help you navigate the dating world with confidence and help you feel less alone in the sometimes chaotic world of modern dating!

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Approaching people in real life: Be bold and remember you have nothing to lose. If you get rejected, it's not necessarily about you.
  • Multi-dating can help reduce dating burnout and provide perspective on potential matches.
  • How do you deal with being the only single friend in a friendship group?
  • How to deal with the fear of being ghosted?
  • What to do when your boyfriend's best friend makes no effort with you?
  • How do you know when you've found "the spark" on a date?
  • What to do when the person you are dating says they aren't ready for a serious relationship but will "get back to you" in a few months?
  • Healthy relationships involve maintaining individual identities, consistent behaviour, and open communication.
  • The "spark" is often misunderstood. A good connection should feel like getting into a warm bath - safe and comfortable!
  • Give potential partners a chance beyond the first date, as nerves or circumstances may affect initial impressions.
  • Understanding attachment styles can provide insight into dating behaviours and help build more secure relationships.
  • Balancing time between friends and romantic partners is crucial for maintaining a healthy social life and relationship.

QUOTES FROM ME:

"I always knew that he was gonna tell me what the date would be the next week. When you do meet the right person that's as keen on you as you are them, you actually are never questioning if they're going to ghost you."

"I romanticise my solo time a lot. You have to do that. “

"Butterflies are horrible. I really hope I never ever have to feel like that ever again. It's the one of the worst feelings I think when you're dating. I think that's worse than being ghosted."

EP25| Are we throwing the ICK in the bin?

Hello! Long time no chat! Sorry for the delay - LIFE HAS BEEN BUSY! I have completed the first year (out of 3) of my hypnotherapy and counselling course, so I recently finished a HUGE assessment! I have started a new role, all whilst trying to be a great friend, girlfriend and all whilst staying cute! It's hard x

This podcast is for everyone, whether you're single, dating, uninterested in a love life right now or in a relationship! There's lots of little nuggets in this episode you can take away in various aspects of your Life!

Joining me today is Lauren Josephine, who brings her unique insights and experiences to the table. We really HONE IN on the 'ICK' in this episode and talk about why we feel icks, where they're reasonable and how to overcome them - when we are truly honest with ourselves and know that we NEED to!

Since recording this episode earlier this year, Lauren has since gotten engaged and has a wedding in 4 months at time of posting!! In this episode, she talks about meeting her now partner on REDDIT!! Remember it is an international website - but the guy that commented on her dating chat Reddit chain, happened to live round the corner!!

We discuss dating apps, knowing how to enjoy that 'safe, comfortable' feeling with someone and not going for the one you have to 'chase.'

So, cozy up, enjoy whilst getting ready for a date, or make your car journey go A LOT quicker & get ready for some thought-provoking discussions.

Let's navigate this weird and wonderful doesn't-come-with-a-handbook-World of dating and relationships. Enjoy & remember to rate it if you like it!

EP 24 | Should we feel a 'SPARK?'

Thanks for coming back for another episode!

This podcast is for everyone, whether you're single, dating, uninterested in a love life right now or in a relationship! There's lots of little nuggets in this episode you can take away in various aspects of your Life!

Joining me today is Pippa May, who brings her unique insights and experiences to the table. Get ready for an enriching conversation as she shares more about the incredible work she does with her clients and the lessons she's learned dating and falling in love, too. She's very open about her own journey in finding love, the boundaries she put in place for herself, the self-confidence journey she went on and when she really felt that her current partner was THE ONE!

I also chat about some of my past bad dating decisions and where I've completely deterred nice men away, through hyper independence!

We dive into feminine and masculine energies and the different dynamic between these energies.

We're also delving into some soul-nourishing topics. We discuss the importance of not punishing ourselves if we want to improve something about ourselves—let's ditch the "I'm too much this" or "I'm not enough that" mindset!

Also - dating apps aren't necessarily the enemy—as long as we use them mindfully and not when we're feeling hungover, tired, or anxious, etc...

EP20| Lower your EXPECTATIONS!

Hey you! WELCOME BACK!

Episode 10 of Season 2 (or episode 20)

In this episode, I am talking all about lowering our expectations. Why do we expect guys to plan a date, take us to an amazing place, pay for it, tell us the time and when to be there fore etc etc when dating , however in a happy, healthy relationship, we ALL probably don't have these type of expectations - so why do we have them with people we BARELY KNOW?!!

EXPLAIN THAT?!

I touch on expectations for first dates, how to get ready for a first date and lowering expectations on yourself - how you look and how you present yourself.

EP18| My LEARNINGS on dating healthily & securely

Hey, welcome back!

I have something a little bit different for you this week and I think you'll LOVE it! This is my first episode on MY OWN.

In this episode, I talk about my biggest takeaways from my own podcast so far - the dating advice that has HELPED ME loads in my own dating life!

Without releasing any spoilers, I'm chatting about being afraid of commitment and who that lead me to date because of the way I was feeling about commitment, I touch on outside pressures for relationships - other people always asking about when a couple is moving in together, if you'll spend Christmas Day together etc and fighting/ignoring those societal pressures and I also talk about riding the wave when dating someone new - riding the wave of emotions, as well as the idea of dating Mr.Mediocre (which I have to credit to episode 14 with my guest Lauren).

ALL OF THIS AND MORE - this is very personal for me, so I hope you take away something from it and if you do enjoy the episode, please like, follow subscribe and leave a review! It all helps!!

I have learnt so much from my own podcast and I truly believe it's helped me to date for healthily, with healthy boundaries, healthy standards but also with more of an open mind and understanding what ACTUALLY is necessary for longevity within a relationship.

If you're wanting to date more successfully or you're seeking a healthy relationship, then this episode particularly is for you.

EP17| Navigating BREAK-UPS and EFT Tapping

Welcome back!! In this Episode, Holly Jaskolka of Breakups and Love joins me to chat about Break-Ups and Heartbreak. We have all been there and we all experience these emotions... it's one thing we all have in common. But we all deal with these things differently and sometimes in hindsight, we don't always like how we dealt with it.

We chat about navigating a break up and looking after yourself during one, aswell as talking about TAPPING, also known as EFT as a form of calm in the breakup. Emotional freedom technique (EFT) is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. Do you need to love yourself to date? Is it possible to get through heartbreak without experiencing that MANIA of needing closure? Is closure necessary? Can we get over a breakup quicker than we think? All of these questions are answered in this episode.

Hey, welcome back!

This is PART 2 of episode 16!

Whether you're single, in a relationship or going through a break up, there's so much advice in this episode, for whichever stage you're in in your life!

This is PART 2 of episode 16, because it is a GOLDEN episode and there's so many gems I've split it up to ensure you have the time to listen, so you don't miss out on any of the wonderful lessons and learnings in this episode!

For this episode, TJ Gibbs, The Love Coach joined me!

In Part 1, she opens up about her mental health journey and what she calls her 'mental breakthrough,' and tells us WHY and HOW she became a Love Coach.  In Part 2, we talk more about different STYLES and cycles of relationships and how to show up authentically.

The various phases of love you'll find yourself in at different times are Eros, Mania, Storge and Agape being some of the main ones! This episode talks about this in more depth!

(This post on insta explains all: https://www.instagram.com/p/CyxyHzQo8... ) We also talk about the wheels of Life and Love - the 'happiness' ratings for life and love (I announce my score in the episode and we talk about what MY PERSONAL score means!).

Oh, and you can find your Love and Life Happiness score out FOR FREE here:  https://thelovecoach.co.uk/wheels-of-.... (it's just something for you to do - there's no obligation for a session etc)

Points covered in this episode:

- How to filter your dating pool to help reduce dating fatigue

- What we should look for in the potential parent to our children

- Why we date and what we need to KNOW about the person before we go on the date!

- Finding out non-negotiable ASAP as you can't help who you fall in LOVE with but you can help who you date.

- Be careful with non-negotiables and be honest with yourself.

EP16 PART 1| Love Cycles & Non-Negotiables

Hey, welcome back!

This is PART 1 of episode 16!

"Be careful who you date - you can't help who you fall in love with."

I am SO excited for you to listen to this episode, whether you're single, in a relationship or going through a break up, there's so much advice in this episode, for whichever stage you're in in your life! This is PART ONE of episode 16, because it is a GOLDEN episode and there's so many gems I've split it up to ensure you have the time to listen, so you don't miss out on any of the wonderful lessons and learnings in this episode! For this episode, TJ Gibbs, The Love Coach joined me!

In Part 1, she opens up about her mental health journey and what she calls her 'mental breakthrough,' and tells us WHY and HOW she became a Love Coach.

We tall about non-negotiable and green flags. She gets me to be quite honest with myself at times in this episode too and we talk about feminine and masculine energy. We touch on love languages and love cycles - the various phases of love you'll find yourself in at different times. Eros, Mania, Storge and Agape being some of the main ones! (more in depth in PART 2 though) (This post on insta explains all: https://www.instagram.com/p/CyxyHzQo8... ) We also talk about the wheels of Life and Love - the 'happiness' ratings for life and love (I announce my score in the episode and we talk about what MY PERSONAL score means!).

TJ definitely challenged me at times during this episode too and it really got me thinking!! You'll hear that throughout the episode.

Oh, and you can find your score out FOR FREE here: https://thelovecoach.co.uk/wheels-of-.... (it's just something for you to do - there's no obligation for a session etc) Main takeaways: -If you van't be who you are and give them space to allow them to be who they are then is there love? - A relationship after 7 years will require you to be truly yourself and allow your partner to be who they are - love alone isn't enough after this time. - Be careful who you date because you can't help who you fall in love with. - Write down what you want your life to look like at 35 (or in 5 years time) - you might just surprise yourself with what you sub-conscious mind wanted! Is there a partner in the picture? Here's the link to find the podcast on other streaming platforms: https://linktr.ee/daisiedatespodcast?... EP15| Dating with ADHD

Welcome back to an episode where I admit a few things about myself I haven't said out loud before! We chat about finding your person, overlooking 'looks' on dating apps and how to be better on dating apps.

In this episode 15, Jamie Johnston, Founder of Mattr. joins me. If you have ADHD or are dating someone with it, there's snippets of this episode that could be really helpful for you.

We also cover dating struggles with men versus the struggles for women and how the traditional relationship can be slightly unobtainable for Gen Z's now, with home ownership getting harder, their flexibility with dating and being more fluid with dating and their love lives. Infact in 2023, a study of 4,000 18-to-25-year-olds showed that 41 percent are open to or seeking non-monogamous relationships on a well known dating app.

The dating industry is growing and there are more single people than ever before, as more and more people prioritise their career over monogamous relationships.

Mattr. is an app with the tagline 'Date different.' Mattr. are encouraging us to be more inclusive, let our guards down, get vulnerable and be more open, whilst dating with a lot less choice and more intention.

There will also be a panel discussion you can attend if you are a member- 'Dating Apps - more Harm than Good?' on 4th October 2023 at Soho House.

Grab a cuppa and stick in and let me know what you think!!

EP14 | Settle for Mr. Mediocre!

In this episode, I chat about my most recent dating experience... so if you fancy being nosy today, this one is for you!

I'm also joined by Lauren Zamora, self declared sassy dating coach and she helps women get turned on by HEALTHY love - something I know so many of us (of all genders) struggle with!

*Content in this episode can be applied to any gender... swap pronouns to make it applicable to you.*

We discuss Mr. Mediocre, finding healthy love, stopping toxic patterns and healing as an ongoing journey. This episode is SO helpful for people single and dating, in the later stages of dating or even those in a relationship that are open to learn and understand themselves and their partner.

We also chat about ACTING OUT towards a partner when we aren't used to someone making us feel calm and how our body is used to feeling anxiety, so feeling peace when dating can be tricky.
