When Reality Bites: The Savant, South Park & Celebrity Baby Names

Apple TV+ was about to launch one of their biggest shows of the year, a topical thriller headlined by Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain titled The Savant. Suddenly, three days prior to release, they yanked it from their schedules. What happened? Kate and Rory peel back the thought process behind the last-minute change of heart, and uncover a dense history of movies, shows, and songs that had their paths altered by real-life events.

Elsewhere, Kate has A LOT of fun choosing some of the most out there celebrity baby names of all time and tries to explain why they prove to be so popular, while Rory reveals his working theory on the top secret new movie that Kendrick Lamar is working on with the creators of South Park!

As if that wasn't enough, this episode also tries to get to the bottom of a spicy HBO rumour, and pulls back the lid on hit series The Summer I Turned Pretty and it's interesting viewers demographics!

Video killed the radio star... but who do we blame for the death of music video? Also in this episode, we've also got celebrity nights out, a potential revival for old school journalism, the Irish influencer boycott list, and loads more!

You'll NEVER guess who (isn't?) dead!

Off the back of He Who Shall Not Be Named being the subject of this weeks death rumours, Kate and Rory look back through a surprisingly long history of celebrity death hoaxes. How do they happen and why? And never mind fake deaths, what happens when a famous person actually kicks the proverbial bucket?

Alongside some bonus Danny Dyer content, we also delve into Ireland's chances at the next Academy Awards, and how former The L-Word star Snoop Dogg suddenly seems to have an issue with same sex couples.

Building and breaking a legacy: Oasis, Taylor Swift & Carrie Bradshaw

In All’s Well That Ends Well Shakespeare once wrote that “no legacy is so rich as honesty” and that’s a lesson that some of the people covered in this week’s show might have done well to heed. Because let’s face it, legacy is a huge part of celebrity culture nowadays - building it, monetising it and just generally how not to leave a turd blocked toilet in your wake.

Our very first episode sees Kate and Rory gather around the trough to deconstruct the biggest (pop)culture stories of the week. From Oasis, to Taylor (both Swift and Liz) and why all wasn’t well and didn’t end well for Carrie Bradshaw’s Sex and The City multiverse. Because let's face it, when it comes to the writing on And Just Like That, Shakespeare it was not.
