AVIS points out that both success and failure are imposters. Neither is permanent. So, learn to be detached from either event. When society celebrates and fetes you for your success, be grateful. And when you are labeled a failure, be prudent enough not to get discouraged. Symbolically, advises AVIS, peel off that label and chuck it away.

AVIS reminds us that relating between two people is more important than the relationship. When you can't relate to someone, whoever it may be - parent, sibling, spouse, boss, child, colleague - the relationship is long dead. By clinging on to it, you are only causing yourself untold suffering. So AVIS advises us to have honest conversations to make our relationships better. And he encourages us to have the courage to let go of relationships that are not working out, that are not thriving

AVIS says parenting is an ever-evolving responsibility. And the best way to be an empowering parent is to know and remember what Khalil Gibran has said - "Children are born through us, not for us!" At best you can give your children the right values to be good human beings and give them the freedom, the power of choice, to fly towards their dreams. Beyond this, AVIS advises, don't come in the way of your children’s journey. You can never live their Life for them

AVIS says that trusting the process of Life is what faith is all about. Faith is not about looking up to a "source" outside of yourself. You have been given this Life as a gift. You have been created without your asking to be born. So, AVIS suggests, keep the faith, trust Life, that if you have been created, you will be looked after, cared for and provided for. And until such time that you are looked after, be patient. Simple.

AVIS discusses a very pertinent question - Have you ever wondered why people who fall in love, fall out of love, particularly after they have married? That's because the social contract of marriage has killed their romance. When you are, on the other hand, rising in love, you are loving - it is a present, continuous, state. Then, even if there is no defined social framework like a marriage, there is so much loving between the people. It is not a marriage that keeps people together. It is their companionship, their relating, their loving. So, AVIS says, focus on the loving, and not only on the tag of social approval, a.k.a marriage!
