Conversations from the region
UPJA
3 episodes

Conversations from the Region is a new podcast by the Undergraduate Philosophy Journal of Australasia (UPJA) as as an extension of our interview series. In each episode, we'll interview with academic philosophers who are from or currently working in Australasia, or whose work has had a significant impact on philosophy in the region. We hope this podcast can provide an opportunity for undergraduate students to gain a new perspective on the discipline, by inviting established philosophers to share their own experiences, ideas and advice.

Dr Bryan Mukandi: Thinking Different Philosophical Traditions

This episode, we were honoured to sit down with Dr Bryan Mukandi, Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Wollongong. We spoke about Dr Mukandi’s slightly unconventional foray into philosophy, the importance of philosophical community, the difficulty of navigating philosophy as a member of a marginalised group, what it means to do philosophy in a specific place, and his work on Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o.
