On this Pentecost Sunday, we experienced God's Holy Spirit in a brand new way. The Associate Minister Search Committee at FBC has recently announced their nominee for the position to be our very own Dr. Daniel Johnson. This Sunday, Daniel preached a sermon about the mysterious ways God was at work as Jesus' earliest disciples chose Matthias to join them in the ministry. God calls who God calls and uses them to advance the church's important work. Join us as we listen in as Daniel shares this spirited word.

Listen in on our worship service from Sunday, May 29, as we remember. During our Memorial Day weekend service, we honored those who have lost their lives in war. We also took time to honor and remember the recent victims of gun violence in the United States. As it was also Ascension Sunday, Dr. Daniel Johnson preached on hope in the tomorrow that we do not yet know. We do not know the mind of God, and yet, we move forward with faith that the same God who is with us today will remain with us in the days ahead.

It is yet another Music Sunday at FBC in Beverly! On Music Sunday, our music director, Dr. Esther Chang, brings together musicians from our congregation and community to lead us in a rousing worship experience as we allow music to be our minister for the day! This Music Sunday featured pieces from our vocal and handbell choirs and trumpet, violin, and cello performances. The theme of the selections is peace. To support the peacemaking theme, Rev. Jaimie Crumley preached, "Blessed Are The Peacemakers." She shared a story of how we at FBC have been at the forefront of peacemaking efforts in Beverly and how children and youth have always been central to our peacemaking mission!

Amirah is an organization that is dedicated to serving women who have survived human trafficking. Mary's words, based on Luke 4:14-21 and Isaiah 61, remind us that God has called each one of us to the work of setting captive people free.
