Episode 4: 'Defying The Storm, Transcending Traditional Boudaries'

For the 4th episode of Coffee Insights, WAC welcomed Mr Parit Wacharasindhu – founder of Startdee; an education start-up company that uses technology to give high quality and affordable education to students. The company was also dubbed as the Netflix of education by The Bangkok Post. Previously, Mr Parit graduated from the University of Oxford and worked as a consultant at Mckinsey & Company before venturing into a political career serving the Thailand Democrat Party. In today’s episode, Mr Parit discussed on the socioeconomic issues arising in the education sector due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This unforeseen circumstance forced the exponential rise of educators adopting an online learning model.

Ms Basu possesses a wealth of experience in the fields of microeconomics and policy-making analysis across ASEAN countries, including Thailand and Indonesia. She is currently the head of Asia Country risk solutions at Finsolutions in Singapore.

As we approach the last quarter of 2020, it has also been 6 months since ASEAN has felt the full effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Watch on, as Ms Anwita shares with us some of her insights on how well these countries are emerging from the ongoing economic slump.
