There’s a lot of noise right now about ultra-processed foods (UPFs). From dramatic TikToks to scaremongering headlines, it can feel like every packet of bread or protein bar is out to ruin your health. But here’s the truth: the poison is in the dose.

In this episode, I break down what UPFs actually are, why cutting them all out isn’t realistic (or necessary) and how they can even support your netball performance. Think sports drinks, gels, cereal bars and protein powders. The exact things that can help you recover faster and fuel better on court.

Instead of stressing about whether something is “processed,” let’s zoom out and focus on what really matters: eating enough protein, fuelling your body for training and enjoying food without guilt.
