Piqued by his father's draft drawings as a child, Chris found his path into architecture early. LA-born and raised, he found new builds and historical LA architecture to be a seemingly endless source of inspiration, taking pride in his work to such an extent that he created healthy competition within each job, asking himself "how can I do that better?"
In the case of our previous guest Kevin Kolanowski's home, "better" meant creating a second story that blended with the stylistic integrity of the existing Silverlake property, while elevating the space to accommodate the tastes of the designer couple.
Teaming up with his wife to create Legaspi Courts Design, Chris and Edel used their differences in taste and aesthetic to create layered, dimensional spaces, rarely settling in immediate agreement, but challenging their ideas to create the best possible outcome.
