Hey fam! 💜 Grab a snack and get comfy because today’s video is a super chatty Q&A and reintroduction. I’ve been on YouTube for almost 8 years (!!) and thought it was the perfect time to share a little more about me, my Michael Jackson fan story, and life outside of YouTube.
In this video, I’ll talk about how I first fell in love with Michael Jackson, the story of my very first Michael Jackson concert experience (yes, I actually saw him LIVE 😭), and how my journey shifted from being a superfan to a Michael Jackson historian. I’ll also share some of my personal favorites—from music and books to podcasts and more—so you can get to know me beyond just the channel. If you’re new here, WELCOME! And if you’ve been riding with me since the early days, thank you so much for being part of this amazing MJ Fangirl community.
💜 Don’t forget to drop a comment with YOUR own Michael Jackson fandom journey—I’d love to hear it! 💜

1:16:00 FINAL THOUGHTSReleased on January 14, 1992, REMEMBER THE TIME stands as a landmark in Michael Jackson’s musical evolution. As the second single from his Dangerous album, the song represents Jackson’s deliberate shift from the sound of Quincy Jones to the style of new jack swing. Co-written and produced with Teddy Riley and Bernard Belle, the track achieved both commercial and critical success, peaking at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching #1 on the R&B chart. In this video, we also discuss the Remember the Time short film that accompanied the single, which premiered on FOX in February 1992. Directed by John Singleton, the then-24-year-old filmmaker behind *Boyz n the Hood*, the film was a stylized portrayal of ancient Egypt featuring an all-Black cast, including Eddie Murphy, Iman, and Magic Johnson. The project was a groundbreaking celebration of Black royalty and cultural heritage, realized through elaborate costume design, choreography by Fatima Robinson, and pioneering visual effects. The film employed early morphing CGI technology and high-concept cinematography, making it one of the most innovative music videos of its time.✩ New to mjfangirl TV? ALSO- Will MJ make HISTORY again with a 2 part BIOPIC? Let's chat about this upcoming 2025 MICHAEL JACKSON MOVIE. The movie was originally to come out in April 2025 and now it's been pushed to october 2025 and POSSIBLY will be a 2 part BIOPIC. Why will the Michael Jackson Movie be split into 2 parts? According to sources like Variety, the runtime is 4 hours, being WAY too long for a movie theatre run, and they have a lot of music to cover. Reshoots have also been reported. I am open to whatever works and I will be at the theatre but, wanted to discuss this recent development with my friend Chris Lacy.Follow Chris Lacy @ chrislacy1990
