Civic Media Spotlight (Hour 1)
To kick off the first hour of the Civic Media Spotlight, we have the Tood Allbaugh Show. Todd talks about Wisconsin sports love with Pat Kreitlow of Mornings with Pat Kreitlow and Trygve Olson of The Lincoln Project, our usual Wednesday guests. Also joining us are producers Sean Hanish and Paul Jaconi-Biery to share how they got involved with the amazing film, No Packers No Life. For the third segment of the Civic Media Spotlight, we have the Maggie Dawn Show. The Supreme Court's term raises alarms with a pivotal case potentially gutting the Voting Rights Act. Devon Ombres, Senior Director, Courts and Legal Policy at the Center for American Progress, critiques the court's anti-woke bias and historical amnesia, warning of dire consequences for minority representation. To finish off the first hour of the Civic Media Spotlight, we have the Mornings with Pat Krietlow. There is an ongoing effort by far-right conservatives to elevate the life of murdered activist Charlie Kirk into something worthy of a national holiday. Pat Kreitlow isn’t buying it and notes that while political violence is abhorrent, he’s among those who won’t stand for people trying to whitewash (pun intended) Kirk’s legacy of racism, misogyny and division.
