Church In Your Head
Objective Truth
16 episodes
There are thousands of denominations in the Protestant Evangelical Churches, which begs the question - why? If Christ himself said the gates of Hell would not prevail against His Church and that He (Holy Spirit) would guide us into ALL truth, then there must be an objective way to identify what that church is. We ask the hard questions in hopes to identify objective truths around who the True personal God is and the doctrines by which we ought to position ourselves under.

The "True Church" In Your Head

In this episode, we break down the problem of the “true church in your head” — when personal interpretation and selective historical research lead you to construct your own version of the true church. We explore why this inward authority can’t replace the visible, historic Church rooted in conciliar unity

Church In Your Head
Why go Liturgical???

If you've been like us being in a non-denom service for most of your life, your concept of a "liturgical service" might look outdated...full of organs and spider webs. As most evangelical churches offer an amazing rock concert, Starbucks coffee, and a club-like environment it might seem foreign and uncomfortable to even think about stepping into a confessional, historic liturgical service. In this episode, we ask the question "what is it that you may be missing out by not going?"

Church In Your Head
Normative authority, Universals, & Binding truth claims

Many people make truth claims and call them "Christian" by adding in a few scriptures for support. We discuss if Christian truth claims can be binding apart from the authoritative church.

Using the Nicene Creed to prove Council infallibility (part 1)

In this episode we take the Nicene Creed that many liturgical churches chant on a weekly basis to support the idea that either what the councils came up with is indeed infallible or they could have been wrong, which leads to some dangerous outcomes.

Church In Your Head
The meaning is in the scriptures, therefore the scriptures reflect the meaning...why can't you see it?!!

In this episode we go through a common circular argument that many make about the meaning of scripture. We go over what's problematic about collapsing the meaning and the text of scripture and whether or not we can objectively discover the meaning outside of what WE see in scripture.

Church In Your Head
The wolf/false teacher cannot be identified without an Objective Church (Part 1)

We all know scripture clearly teaches and warns us about Wolves that will come in sheep's clothing to devour the flock.  Many false teachers are out to manipulate and direct you away from the promises of the Triune God.  Unfortunately, when the question is asked on how do we know what a wolf looks like we're told to look at the scriptures.  What if your interpretation of a wolf differs from someone else's interpretation of a wolf - both of you are going to the scriptures.  Listen to how we explore how one can identify a wolf/false teach outside of what they "see in scripture"

Church In Your Head
The church in your head leads to an impersonal God

Having an objective Church that has received pure and undefiled doctrine via revelation gives us certitude that we have a real, personal God who comes to us.  On this episode we talk about the logical implications of having no objective truth and the consequences it brings to the individual

Church In Your Head
Is the Church in your head objective?

In this show we look at the implications if all bishops in apostolic succession went astray (apostate).  What if none of them got it right when it came to the doctrine and the canonization of scripture?  What if all the bishops involved in the ecumenical councils in the first 1000 years of the church were no more than a glorified bible study?

Church In Your Head
Your interpretation vs the Church's interpretation

In 325AD the Priest Arius came to the table with his scriptures that he thought was rightly interpreted against the church.  The difference is, the outcome didn't end in an "agree to disagree"; rather one interpretation was dogmatized and the other anathematized

Church In Your Head
What does the church in your head look like?

Many churches in Western Christianity are derived from subjectivism, which has lead to so many denominations.  The question is: how can one know they're sitting under the right church and hear proper sound doctrine.  We discuss the difference between a church derived in one's head and it's dangerous logical conclusions.
