Chief Jeffrey Yarbrough is one of those guests who becomes an immediate friend. The Chief’s philosophy of public safety is one of breaking down silos. Silos don’t speak of teamwork—and that’s what the Chief of Hutto, Texas is all about. If we were to find ourselves in a precarious situation—we would be reaching out to Jeffrey for help. A true Christ follower—this policeman understands spiritual needs of perpetrators and victims alike.
Carol Everett is a talented and successful woman. But having experienced abortion and possessing an unhealthy desire for money—she focused her talents on abortion clinics. Her goal—to “help” women and become a millionaire. But gratefully—her life took a dramatic turn. Her sincere desire to follow Christ took her out of the abortion business to the ministry of life. Her story is what God is anxious to do in each one of our lives.
Kathleen’s testimony gives us an untarnished look at what so many young women experience today. Sexually active at twelve and pregnant at fourteen. Life became a challenge on numerous levels. After experiencing failed marriages, she came to Christ and committed herself and family to following his leading. This lady understands the importance of churches addressing the issue of abortion and realizes the body of Christ, must do everything in our power to save lives.
Pastor Todd Mullins shares a message of HOPE and ASSURANCE in a sea of doubt. According to Todd—“All it took was one jarring moment on a mountain for me to be in the grip of doubt. A tool of the enemy—doubt is a seed implanted in our minds to distract us from God and His truth.” (from his book – Don’t Let Doubt Take You Out) Don’t miss Todd as he shares a few life experiences.
I’m not sure I’ve ever met anyone who comprehends Ephesians 2:10 like John. In light of his now adult son—born without eyes—this verse shines light on our spiritually blind eyes. “We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Hear this wonderful word-picture of the difference Christ makes in the lives of His followers. And don’t miss hearing John’s heart for LIFE!
A board member suggested his friend—John Knight—would be an encouraging interview. And it is. It aired a little over a year ago. Jill thought it should be aired again, and when you hear it—you’ll agree. John thought “being good” might qualify him as a Christian. Realizing he was wrong, he surrendered his life to Christ. and then, “LIFE” got complicated. After hearing this interview—you’ll never think about your sight the same way again.
Nearly seven years ago Fern was one of my first interviews on Choose Life Radio. Her story was powerful because of her love for those suffering from past abortions. The author of two grief recovery books and a woman’s devotional, today she shares another aspect of her Christian walk. If you have persons in your life with special needs, you’ll find yourself celebrating the blessings you and Fern share.
As you may recall from last week’s interview, author Duncan Othen lived a different kind of life. His temper was his nemesis at every turn. And then there was that bear wrestling challenge! Who would do a thing like that? (Duncan would!) But, in part 2 of his story, everything changes. Why? Because that’s when Jesus entered his heart. Don't miss this life-changing story. There's hope for all of us!
Having grown up an atheist, Duncan’s has a unique story. He had no sense of who God is. So when Howard and I met him, we knew you would be fascinated by what God has, and continues to do, in his life. But it was his temper that really needed to be captured by God. His story will cause you to think more deeply about who you are. It certainly did for me!
Wendy serves as the Executive Director of Genesis Women’s Clinic in Pottstown and Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. She is certified as a Biblical counselor and specializes in pro-life counseling and domestic abuse. She is also the author of Running Toward Abortion—a book you will definitely want to read and pass on to others. She loves to be in the counseling room with women who struggle with the truth of LIFE and lie of abortion.
Abortion, abuse, shame and hopelessness WERE the essence of Wendy’s life. But God saw it differently and rescued her, gave her passion for the unborn and prepared her to communicate with women in unplanned pregnancies. Her experiences help pregnant moms see the truth about the precious lives they’re carrying. Wendy’s pre-Jesus story helps us see the wreckage abortion causes and the grace and mercy found in the loving arms of Jesus. Looking for a redemption story?
There were times when Michelle thought Greg was dead. And as they share their story—it’s apparent both were hopelessly lost and the “love of their youth” had vanished. But God had a greater purpose for their lives than they could fathom. More alive today than ever and sharing their conversation testimony to all who will listen, theirs is a story of absolute redemption. It’s a miraculous story to share with someone warring with drugs, alcohol and love-lost.
Our good friend and Choose Life Radio board member, Greg King, has a wonderfully personal story of how Christ came into his adult-life and saved him and his wife, Michelle, from the ruin of drugs and alcohol. Greg’s is an interview that has aired before—but we’re committed to making sure every Choose Life Radio listener has heard it. It’s a story of incredible story of salvation. Is there any other?
After Sean’s life turned around, his life choices changed dramatically. He went back to college and then to law school. And he “won” the hand of the woman he had been pursuing for almost a decade. Now with a wife and family of five children, Sean is the CEO of Men for Life, a not-for-profit organization committed to helping men secure a role in the abortion debate. Be ready to be challenged!
Sean’s is a fascinating story. Addiction, depression and the inability to complete college are just a few of his challenges. His story also involves his inability to stop the abortion of his baby because his girlfriend said, “No.” And to round out this incredibly disappointing life—he was an addict. Then God heard Sean’s heart-felt prayer. Needless to say—he became a different person in Christ. Don’t miss Howard’s interview with Sean.
If you know someone who feels sorry for themselves—share this amazing interview with Bradley Walker. His story is not one soon forgotten. It’s about allowing God to use us—no matter the challenges. Once you hear Bradley sing and connect the dots with his physical challenges—you’ll be amazed! And if you like country music—stay tuned and experience the richness of Gods blessings. Trust me—you’re in for a fantastic treat.
A while back David Mahan shared his struggles as a young father. It’s a story of Christ’s love and intervention. But today—as the Director of Public Policy at the Center for Christian Virtue in Columbus, Ohio – he’s here to share a recently published study on the value of FAMILY. Although the Hope and a Future study focused on Ohio, families, you’ll quickly see the information is essential—no matter where we live.
They saw young moms with needs and set out to help. They’re a part of Walking with Moms In Need ministry in their church. And that’s what they do. They walk alongside moms and focus on the challenges young and expectant mothers encounter. These two women (moms themselves) will encourage you to step up and minister to those facing spiritual, physical and emotional issues. You can Walk with those who are pregnant and those with young children—just like they do.
In 2020, Choose Life Radio aired an interview with Marilyn Heavilin, author of the book, Roses in December. It is airing again as a tribute to Marilyn’s ministry and those who have lost a loved one—especially a child or grandchild. Although Marilyn has passed away, her book is still available and continues to minister to so many. As you will note, Marilyn experienced some difficulty speaking. Her husband, Glen, lovingly helped Marilyn communicate her thoughts. Marilyn’s ministry continues to bless so many—including Howard and me.
