Welcome and Happy New Year Everyone!
The child of God podcast is starting off the new year, with something special. We haven't had guests on the podcast for a very long time, and so Alaysia Newhouse and Ashley Nichele Brown, Author of "Tug of War" is joining us to discuss "Becoming a woman of God."
The Holy Spirit led us to discuss Lydia, and so we hope you enjoy this live bible study, as we dissect the traits, and evidence of God in Lydia's life as well as our own.
Bringing in the New Year with Season 5 of the Child of God Podcast.
A podcast founded on faith in Jesus Christ, biblical truths, and humility. We are called to be as children in the kingdom, filled with faith, humility and representative of the first fruits of our Heavenly Father's creation. Our Identity is in Christ, and we are disciples of Jesus Christ.
John 1:12 "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God".
Matthew 18:2-5 "He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me."
Since, we are children of God, Who exactly is Our Heavenly Father? He is who He says He is. So let’s discover:
“Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be your name.”
Explanation of Abba “Father” in Hebrew. Exploration of a few characteristics of our father, Head of the Home: 2 Corinthians 6:16b, 18 – “I will live in them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people… and I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” Unconditional Love, 1 John 3:1 – “See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” Reliable/ Faithful, 1 Corinthians 1:9: "God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord". Provider- Jehovah Jireh, Luke 12:32 – “Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Disciplinarian [Hebrews 12], Intimate or Closeness, Psalm 103:13- "The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him"

How should I address sin, If I am tempted to sin, what should I do? We will all be tempted, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a choice to sin or not.
We are in Hebrews 12 today! ‘Even in a test, there is always the temptation to cheat’ -child of God Podcast
How to resist Temptation? Run, flee from it.
How do I run from temptation? - Proactive Prayer -Read the word. -Hold Thoughts Captive, Do not even take time to consider it.
-Ask God for Strength
What does it mean to be a child of God? To accept the pruning, and his chastening. The word discipline shows up in the bible 100 times, and the word disciple shows up in the bible 261 times. Scripture: *Hebrew 12:4-13* 4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, '“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”[a] *prayer request* Can I help carry your burdens, can I pray for/with you? (Galatians 6:2)
I am not enough. God is. Always and forever in the word, we know that we do nothing without God's strength, breathe, protection, provision and so many other things. The world has made us or me believe I am doing it alone, that I can be good alone. I can't. I find comfort in the fact that I can't, my shoulders are not strong enough to carry, the burdens God said to give to Him. *prayer request* Can I help carry your burdens, can I pray for/with you? Hi friends and coGs (children of God) welcome back to another episode of the podcast, and we will be continuing on by talking about being alive in Jesus Christ. What does that mean? Well, Romans 8 tells us an interesting contrast about where we've been and where Jesus is taking us when we choose to invite Him in, inviting the spirit of LIFE in. We are centered in these scriptures: Romans 8-1:16, Ephesians 1:5, Ephesians 2: 1-6, Ephesians 4:24
Hi friends and coGs (children of God) welcome back to another episode of the podcast, and the first of the new year!!!
We will be talking about the significance of being a "child" of God. What does it mean to truly embrace our Heavenly Father as sons and daughters, heirs to the kingdom of Heaven.
Romans 8:17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
Mark 10:13-16: "People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.'" :) FOLLOW IG @childofgodpodcasts Tik Tok @childofgod

The Jonas story continues but with a different perspective... Nineveh's perspective and outcome.
To continue with Jonah's perspective of the story, we are studying what happens after the whale, after he obeys God's instructions. What happens when God saves others, and when he saves others that we don't like or love. What does Jonah's character reveal to us, and what does God teach him? This episode explores Jonah 3 and 4, if you would like to follow along. The story of Jonah truly brings to light to what can happen when we disobey God, how He turns it into a learning lesson, and transformation.

To continue with Jonah's story, we are studying what happens inside the whale. What happens when God has prepared a space of isolation from you, when you've lost your way. This episode explores Jonah 1:17, 2, 3:1-3, if you would like to follow along. The story of Jonah truly brings to light to what can happen when we disobey God, how He turns it into a learning lesson, and tranformation.
We are taking a break from Jonah briefly this week to talk about Fasting... This important aspect of the faith journey is crucial not only during the new year, but also during every year on this earth. Creating a personal fasting plan between you and God, focusing on the positive and not the judgement, adjusting to the change, denying your flesh, and learning from being in the presence of God.
Ultimately, growing closer to our Heavenly Father.
Have a great week, and if you are doing a fast right now, keep going! You are a winner 😊.
Today, we are talking about Jonah [Jonah 1: 1-17] . We are talking about the first key verses in which Jonah decides to run away from God and how that decision affected not only him but others.
God is never far from you, but sometimes through our actions, we try to “run” from God or further our distance, because we don’t want to obey or because we feel we are undeserving. We see God not only use Jonah in and during his running away, but we also see how in control God is of everything including our lives.

Today, we are building the foundation on our future talks about Jonah. We are talking about context, the political and social climate of the times Jonah lived in, and what affected his decision to run away from God.
*KEY* God is never far from you, but sometimes through our actions, we try to “run” from God or further our distance, because we don’t want to obey or because we feel we are undeserving. We are all undeserving, of course some people think they are deserving, but I know that I am, and if I am undeserving, I can’t judge anyone else.
