Romans 13:1-7 - Elbows Up - Micah Routon
With the political pendulum swinging ever higher and higher, in the midst of all the shouting, with all the chaos and political upheaval, how the Christian ought to live in this world and interact with world leaders is largely summarized in the question: is God still in control?
Ezekiel 22 — Remember Who He Is - Jason Arsenault
The Lord has spoken mightily through Ezekiel in many different ways. Through intense and vivid visions, through prophecies acted out, through direct rebuke, through parables and laments. All this for a people that the Lord knew had “estranged themselves” having “set up their idols in their hearts”.
They have forgotten God.
Their behavior proves it.
Romans 12:10-21 - Unnatural - Micah Routon
Paul writes about patterns of behavior that would have seemed unnatural to the Roman Christians. Whenever we start something healthy, there’s going to be resistance. But as we continue, eventually these things become more natural as we are being made more and more into the image of our Lord.
Ezekiel 20:33-21:32 - He is Mighty, He is Faithful - Jason Arsenault
The Lord's might is on display in His judgment and in His faithfulness. For His power and His strength are evident not only in His mighty acts (all the amazing things that He does that no one else can do), but also in His unwavering character and purposes—His faithfulness that reaches to the clouds.
Romans 12:1-11 - Common Ground - Micah Routon
The Apostle Paul calls believers to overcome division—whether overt or hidden—by humbly offering themselves as living sacrifices to God, allowing their minds to be renewed and transformed by His truth. In a church divided between Jews and Gentiles, Paul emphasizes that unity is found not in uniformity, but in mutual service, humility, and love. Each believer has a unique role and gift, and together they form one body in Christ, called to serve one another with sincerity, diligence, and brotherly affection.
Ezekiel 19-20:32 - He is a Patient God - Jason Arsenault
The Lord's patience continues to be seen in His dealings with His people. We see His sorrow for their turning away and His promise that if they continue in the pattern of idolatry that they have followed since their beginning, He will bring to pass all that He had spoken through Moses and the prophets.
Romans 11 - From Perplexed to Praise - Micah Routon
We often find ourselves frustrated by circumstances we don’t understand, but God is always working—building spiritual muscle memory, shaping us through seasons that may feel pointless or painful. Paul reassures both Jewish and Gentile believers that God’s promises are irrevocable, His plans are perfect, and His timing is intentional. Even when we don’t see it, we can trust that He’s in control of both the big picture and the smallest details of our lives. And when His plan is revealed, our confusion turns to praise.

Romans 10 - The Chosen Whoever - Micah Routon
Those whom God foreknew, He also predestined and chose. His invitation is extended to everyone—'Whoever confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead will be saved.' This truth can be unsettling for some within the church, but it should stir us to action. After all, we are called to preach this message—to share the good news with all.
Ezekiel 17 - It Is Better to Trust in the Lord Than to Put Confidence in Man - Jason Arsenault
Ezekiel 17 records a parable describing how Jerusalem, instead of turning to the Lord in their time of need, turned to man—to Egypt.
But the best of men, as they say, are men at best.
It is far better to trust in the Lord than to put our confidence in men.
Romans 9:6-33 - No Purpose of His Can Be Withheld - Jason Arsenault
When God's mercy is called into question we can be sure that, regardless of man's opinions, the purposes of God will not be thwarted for they are inextricably interwoven with His promises, and His promises likewise with His unchangeable character.

Romans 9:1-8 - Wrestling - Micah Routon
Sometimes, it’s hard to understand the will of God, and what He is doing, particularly when you’ve been given a promise of God, because our minds rush to fill in the blanks. We think “Well, of course this is God’s way of fulfilling that promise,” and so we rush into doing something, that isn’t what God had in mind and get ourselves into all kinds of trouble. Or, we end up with something far inferior to what God had in mind.
Ezekiel 16:1-30 - He Will Not Leave You Nor Forsake You - Jason Arsenault
The Lord reminds the people of their vile state apart from Him. With vivid language and a scandalous allegory, the people are compared to an unfaithful wife who forgot her helplessness apart from her Husband: her Maker, her Lord.
But God has not forgotten her! He was faithful to her at the first, He will continue to be faithful to the end.
Romans 8:18-39 - A Tail of Hope - Micah Routon
In this world we groan. In the sufferings and tribulations, may we not react in our flesh, as is so easy to do. May we not concentrate on the darkness, but hold on to the hope we have in Christ, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith—the light of world. In Him, and only in Him, is our hope secure!
Ezekiel 14-15 - There is One Mediator Between God and Men - Jason Arsenault
Here in Ezekiel we see a people thinking they can seek God while holding on to the idols of their hearts. They are persistently unfaithful, having always wanted to do things in their own way. No one—not even Noah, Job, or Daniel—can save them from the coming judgment on the land.
There's only one way, and there has always been only one way—abiding in the True Vine, trusting in the Lord and in Him alone, which Jesus has now fully revealed means coming to God through (and only through) Him.
Romans 8:1-17 - My Goodness is Nothing Apart from You - Jason Arsenault
Without Jesus we are helpless, hopeless, fruitless. Without Him, we can do nothing. We cannot do His will, we cannot keep His word, we cannot bear fruit, we cannot please Him. But, if we are in Christ, then He is in us, and if He is in us, then His Spirit gives us life—a life lived now and forever in dependance on Him.

Romans 7:15-8:2 - The Impossible Pull Up - Micah Routon
When he came to the end of himself, Paul asked: “O wretched man that I am, who will save me from this body of death?” He did not ask what will save me or how can I save myself from this body of death. He knew that the solution for his predicament was outside of himself.
Ezekiel 10-11 - Be Holy as the Lord is Holy - Jason Arsenault
The emphasis on the holiness of God is unmistakable in the book of Ezekiel. His visible glory, the manifestation of Himself in unapproachable light, His character—all this demands that any who desire to be in His presence come out and be separate. Sanctified. Holy, as He is holy.
