WotC is Bringing Back 1st Edition, And We Are Tired of Alignments!

The crew has found some news that actually has them excited! They are bringing back Dungeons and Dragons 1st Edition. There is plenty to talk about because the book promises to be over 500 pages with some great little features that will have even the old school fan boy drooling. Then the cew decides to break down one of systems that seems to have gone by the waysside pondering if it will even make it into the new edition. The alignment system. Some players use it as a crutch while others forget it even exist until the oppurtunity arrises to use one of the most hated phrases in all of DnD; "It is what my character would do!". Finally, can you conterspell the Wild Magic Surge from Wild Magic Sorcerers? Just because the Pirate Captain's favortie Game Designer says you can does that mean you should be able to? The Crew goes 3 to 1 on this debate and someone walks the plank for it.

Using Balders Gate to Fix Bad DnD Classes

The crew are back at it tryinng to figure out what makes them different from other channels. They are not famous, they aren't Publishers, to really call them a crew might be laughable. They are just players across the table from you. Once they figure that out they decide to take a look at some of the lesser played classes in #dungeonsanddragons and how #baldersgate3 helped them to become relevant. Was it because the classes were always good or is there a factor that only BG3 can pull off. What about having a party without a healer? Is there a way it can be done or is it just a lost cause. A writer put togethera few ways to do this and the crew look to figure out if it would work. Finally is the bell tolling for #wotc? The crew looks at the history of the game and try to decide will it ever recover. If you found this episode entertaining, enlightening or just down right ridiculous please like and subscribe to the the channel. As always Happy Adventures!

WotC Panders to the Wrong Crowd
What do marketing strategies, data analysis, and fireball have in common? They can make an absolute mess of things! In this episode, the Crew tackles a minefield of topics ranging from the newest addition to the D&D lore, the problems with over-selling the inclusive nature of your product, and finally getting on with the live reaction to the latest playtest survey! Do Wizard's strategies hold any weight on what players actually want? Is the introduction of the first canonical autistic character to D&D lore inclusion or merely pandering? And is Loc actually a multiversal entity hellbent on destroying the fabric of reality by endlessly toying with the Pirate Captain's nerves and sanity until he ultimately concocts a method of total rending of space-time and deploys it in an effort to finally rid himself of the nightmares and voices caused by the bard's baleful bickering? Probably not, but at least there's a new episode of Chef Bolgg and the Pirate Captain's Recipes for Everything!

No union on this ship, it's time to clock in and get to work, Crew! In our first livestream episode, we get into jobs in D&D 5e and how they relate to the characters players play. Does the background maketh man/elf/tiefling? Is the standard "adventurer" the only job most campaigns have to worry about? Just how did Chef Bolgg become the chef he is today? What DM's Can Learn from Baldur's Gate 3
By Bhaal's brainwashing bloodlust, it's back to Baldur's Gate! After two weeks with Larian's popular new rpg based around 5e, the Crew reconvene to discuss the game's many strengths and a few of its weaknesses. Players and DMs alike have much to glean from the game's story, mechanics, and even its pitfalls. How do spell combinations make for more tactical players? How does the game inspire DMs to new and greater heights. Why has Bolgg removed every single character's underwear and sold them to children?! Do People Not Like Baulders Gate 3?
Holy controversy, Bolgg-man! The release of Larian Studios' follow-up to Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 has had glowing praise, but also some interesting detractors. How does the Crew feel about it? Does it pay homage to classics or is it just a critical fail? And what about people that ask for certain roles to be filled in their games? Should two natural 20s with advantage give an extra boon to the player? And has Loc actually worn pants this time?! The New DnD Edition will be called....
D&D 2024? More like D&D 2020 BORE! (I'm so sorry) With the new revelations coming from our overlords at Wizards, One D&D is now supposedly "D&D 2024," much to the Crew's chagrin. What is a Dump Stat in DnD?

Guess who's back?  Back again?  INT dump stat.  Less than 10.  That's right, the Crew is back from a short hiatus to discuss why Intelligence is the most common dump stat, but why it maybe shouldn't be.  Is Charisma better?  What about Wisdom, or Strength?  Does roleplay or mechanics play a bigger role in the choice?  Does player ability interfere with character stats?  And does Loc automatically succeed in his Persuasion check to get the Pirate Captain to visit the brothel?  All that and more in this episode of Chef Bolgg and the Pirate Captain's Recipes for Everything!
