Leslie and Matthew are pretty busy guys. For one thing, they gotta watch a load of movies. And another thing they have to do is… talk about them. So in the chaos of trying to do all that, they sometimes let a few movies and TV shows go by the Leslie Wai-side. But this episode is when they look back on the other movies and TV shows that maybe deserve a mention, even if it’s because they’re real bad.
What other movies and TV shows have you seen? Is there anything Leslie and Matthew should’ve talked about? Great!

It’s August, and that means it’s horror time! Doesn’t it? Anyway, Leslie and Matthew both watched Weapons, a movie about… lots of things, if you believe the online world.
They try to talk about the movie without spoilers, before throwing all that away and discussing what they really thought of the movie. Then, they pitch a movie that has many themes, you probably won’t get them all first time round, you probably need to listen to the episode again, probably have to subscribe too.

For the first time ever, Leslie and Matthew don’t even try to pitch anything. Why?
It’s The Naked Gun. What are they gonna do, spoof a spoof? It's the summer holidays, and what do you know? There's a Smurf movie out. But because they didn't want to, Leslie and Matthew did not see it, no way, no how.
So instead, as The Smurfs movie is 90 minutes long, they discuss other things they can do in that time instead.
What's Matthew's favourite part of cleaning his kitchen? How does Leslie get his steps in? These mundane questions, and many others, are answered in the episode that many say 'exists.'

After 2025’s summer blockbuster extravaganza hit a stumbling block with Jurassic World: Rebirth, do things start to look up, in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a review of Superman by the podcast known as Chatting Pitch!
What do Leslie and Matthew make of a movie that tries to reach for a more optimistic tone, whilst also including an allegory for real world conflicts? How does David Corenswet compare to other Supermen? And should Wendell Pierce have been given more screentime (answer: always yes).

S6 E6 - Jurassic World: Rebirth & F1 Reviews
Leslie and Matthew have a lot on this week, boy howdy. Like a regular Busy Busy Place, amirite?
First, they need (need?) to review Jurassic Park 7: Jurassic World 4: The Reboot. What do they make of more dinos, more lab monsters and more... fake tan?
Then Leslie roars in at top speed to review F1, a movie that some are calling 'Out Now.'
But, lest they forget, they didn't have time to do a pitch for 28 Years Later last week. So at the end of it all, they come back to where they started and decide to smush everything into a blender and see what it tastes like.
Zombies and dinosaurs in a blender. Yuck.

S6 E5 – Chatting Pitch 28 Years Later Review
Time to travel back in time as Danny Boyle and Alex Garland bring us a zombie movie set in a decimated UK, featuring new types of zombies and off-kilter choices of camera. It’s 28 Years Later!
Leslie and Matthew spend so much time talking about the latest instalment they don’t even have time for a pitch. But like Danny Boyle, the sequel’s set up and ready to go. In this episode, they talk about when subtext becomes text, why the movie is so divisive and the one boss battle no one saw coming (it’s a real giant… member… of the cast).
Check out the pitch next week to go alongside Leslie’s review of F1 or whatever else they decide to talk about.

The Big Pitch with Jimmy Carr is a brand new comedy podcast where each week a comedian who would’ve been on Mock the Week pitches movie ideas.
This week, Leslie and Matthew put aside their bitterness and reach for different emotions watching the new Disney and Pixar release known as Elio.
What could’ve been another instalment in the pantheon of the mediocre, released on streaming, instead is an interesting, sincere big screen experience.
After talking Elio, Leslie and Matthew pitch their own alien movie. Trust me, it does not go the way you think it would (for one, there aren’t any aliens with butts for faces).

A chaotic renegade that refuses to follow orders, featuring in a movie that opens with a bloated first act and too much fluff. That’s right: It’s Lilo & Stitch!

Two brothers, placed far from one another by circumstance and their own personal choices, coming together to create something silly. That’s right: It’s Chatting Pitch (okay, they're not brothers, but you get the point).
This week, Leslie and Matthew review Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal action/comedy The Accountant 2. Which part of that hybrid genre does the movie nail, and which does it merely grasp at weakly, its fingers trembling, unsure, before the entire wall and this metaphor collapses.
Where can Leslie and Matthew go with this for a pitch? There are already so many action movies trying to be comedies and comedies trying to be action movies that, really, the market is saturated beyond any hope. So of course they get Jason Statham involved, because he’s lacking for work.

S5 E4 – Sinners Review and Vampire Movie Pitch
The Easter holidays has just passed, giving Matthew plenty of time to watch all the movies in the world, it seems. He wraps up the family-friendly (Flow; Wallace and Gromit) while also finding time to watch Steven Soderbergh’s Black Bag. It’s fun time with fun spies! Leslie also talks about his spur-of-the-moment movie choice. What did he see? You’ll have to listen to the episode (or check the time codes, who knows at this point?)

The answer to all of these questions, is obvious.

Flow: the story of nature, perseverance, and enigmatic forces beyond our control.
Minecraft: the story of green screen, analytics and aiming for the correct demographic.
It’s here that Leslie and Matthew realise that their podcast is at the crossroads of both, and with that in mind they review and mash-up these two films for your listening (and viewing!) pleasure.
So who will get cast in this new version of Flow? Can they sing? And, most importantly, have Leslie and Matthew ruined the movie enough to finally be arrested and thrown in prison? The answer to all of these questions, is yes!

There was an award ceremony recently, not sure if you’ve heard of them… they’re called the MTV Movie Awards. But Leslie and Matthew couldn’t watch those, so they decided on the next best thing: The Academy Awards.
Leslie is tired because he watched the entire thing, and Matthew is tired because he’s a dad. But they weren’t going to let a thing like tiredness get in the way of reaching the end of their Oscar run. They talk about their love of ceremony host, Conan O’Brien, review the whole ceremony itself and talk through a new concept they call a ‘meet cube.’
They also move on from awards and the awarding thereof as they realise it really is the season for horror-comedies. They talk Heart Eyes, The Monkey and more, before moving on to pitch their own social media sites.
