WIthout the Cross There Would be No Pentecost - Audio
Sunday, November 2, 2025 – Special Speaker Pastor Barringer delivers a message titled “Without the Cross There Would Be No Pentecost.” In this timely message, Pastor Hal reminds us that Pentecost is the power given by God after Jesus is crucified, raised from the dead, and ascended into Heaven. Fifty days later, the Holy Spirit is poured out on the early church, marking the beginning of the end times foretold by the Prophet Joel. It is through this outpouring of the Holy Spirit’s power that the church is empowered to defeat the spirit of Satan, and the power of Hell cannot stand against it. This same power given to the early church is still available to the end-time church, of which we are a part. Pastor Hal encourages Center Point Assembly to seek and stay in this power as they anticipate the transition to a new pastor when the time comes. Join us in worship and in searching the Word....

Perspectives in Transition - Audio
Sunday, October 12, 2025 – Secretary/Treasurer Pastor Brooks McElihenny is with us at Center Point to help us understand the “Perspectives of a Transition.” All churches go through times and seasons of transition when pastors sense a change in their assignment. During periods of change and transition, many people mistakenly believe that God is doing something to them, but instead He is doing something for them. Seasons of pastor transition are one of these times. Pastor Brooks emphasizes that the perspective you choose is crucial to the success of any transition. He encourages us to focus more on the message the pastor delivers than on the pastor himself. Every pastor has a biblical mandate (1 Timothy 3:1-7) to preach and live out the message they proclaim; even though they are not perfect individuals, they are called to be above reproach. Join us in worship and study as we dive into the Word of God.

This Is It - The Final Message - Audio
Sunday, September 28, 2025, marks a very special day at Center Point Assembly. Pastor Mike will share his final message as Lead Pastor, wrapping up 16 years of faithful ministry. It is a powerful service filled with worship, testimonies, and reflections on God’s goodness throughout this season. For the past several weeks, we’ve been focusing on our identity in Christ, preparing for this next chapter. Pastor Mike will bring us back to a word picture God gave him early in ministry—the image of a simple shovel in the hand of the Holy Spirit. Just as a shovel is only effective when used by the workman, so too a servant of God is effective only in His hands. This picture beautifully captures the heart of this transition: God placing one tool back in the shed while preparing the next for Kingdom work. Join us for this special time of worship and study as we celebrate Pastor Mike’s ministry and look ahead with faith to what God has in store for Center Point Assembly.

How to Evaluate a Sermon - Audio
Sunday, September 21, 2025 – Today, Pastor Mike is bringing a unique message—something a little different from what we might be used to on a Sunday morning. His sermon is titled “How to Evaluate a Sermon.” Now, you might wonder why we’re taking time to talk about this. But as you know, we are in a season of prayerful searching for the next lead pastor whom God will call to shepherd this church. In the process, it’s natural for us to listen closely to sermons and form opinions. But here’s the challenge: as Superintendent Aaron Hlavin has wisely reminded us, “Do not allow your preference to cause you to miss a great pastor who may be a good preacher.” That’s a powerful reminder that while everyone has personal preferences—whether we like a certain style, tone, or delivery—those things must never outweigh biblical standards. What matters most is whether the Word of God is faithfully preached, and whether the message leads us closer to Christ. Today, Pastor Mike is going to walk us through ten steps—guidelines given by Superintendent Hlavin—to help us evaluate sermons not by our own tastes, but by God’s truth. This will serve as a healthy, biblical standard for our whole church family as we prepare for God’s next shepherd here at Center Point. So let’s worship, study, and pray together, trusting the Lord to guide us—not according to our preferences, but according to His perfect will.

Identity Determines Activity - PDF
Sunday, September 14, 2025 - Today, Pastor Mike titles the message: “Identity Determines Activity.” We live in a culture where identity has become one of the most confusing and contested issues of our time. People are searching—often desperately—for something to anchor who they are. Too many look to the wrong sources: past achievements or failures, the opinions of others, or the ever-changing standards of society. For those of us who are born again—washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit, and standing on the unshakable Word of God—our identity comes not from man, but from God. Because Christ lives in us, the way we live—our actions, our character, our decisions—must reflect the identity we have in Him. Holiness is not optional. Obedience is not outdated. We are called to prove our identity to a watching world in authenticity and love. Come worship and study with us.

What does Center Point Assembly Mean? - Audio
Sunday, September 7, 2025 – Pastor Mike discusses the importance of a name in his message titled “What does Center Point Assembly Mean?” God often changes the names of some people in Scripture. Why does He do this? Probably because God sees something different in the person than the person sees in himself at that moment. Quite possibly, the new name carries a meaning that provides the encouragement and challenge needed to fulfill the larger purpose God has for them. A properly given name serves two main purposes: “A name IDENTIFIES externally and CHALLENGES internally.” We were challenged to change this church’s name from Charlevoix Assembly of God to Center Point Assembly of God. There was nothing wrong with our previous name, but it didn’t pose a challenge; it simply indicated that we were the Assemblies of God in Charlevoix. The purpose of the name Center Point Assembly is to identify that we are an Assemblies of God church, with a challenge of who’s at the Center Point of the church, as well as of the attenders and members of this church. Every time we read the name, it should prompt us to ask – Who is at the Center Point of my life? If we live with that identity and challenge, then we will pass God's tests in our lives—both here and, most importantly, in eternity when we stand before Jesus and give an account of who was at the center of our earthly lives. Worship and study with us.

The Assemblies of God - Fundamental Truth 16 - PDF
Sunday, August 24, 2025 – This sermon serves as a fitting conclusion to our exploration of the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God. We will examine one of the most inspiring promises in Scripture: “The New Heavens and New Earth.” Together, we will consider God’s ultimate victory—when all sin and corruption are eradicated, and believers are given eternal, glorified bodies. A holy city. A completely new creation. And God's everlasting presence dwelling with His perfected saints. John’s Revelation offers us glimpses of this magnificent future, though even our most vivid imaginations cannot fully grasp the splendor of what God has prepared for those who love Him. The Assemblies of God - Fundamental Truth 15 - Audio
Sunday, August 17, 2025 – We continue our study of the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, focusing on Truth 15 – The Final Judgment. The last four truths are prophetic, and all but this one are very encouraging and exciting to discuss. Judgment is a crucial truth to speak about, even if it can be a difficult topic. The reality is that every person, righteous and unrighteous, will have their moment before a righteous and just God. All will give an account of the lives they have lived. For the righteous, this occurs at the “Bema Seat of Christ," where Jesus will reward each person for the good works they have done. Although we are saved by grace alone, our works after salvation will be evaluated, so believers should work diligently and look forward to rewards in heaven. For the unrighteous, their time before a holy and just God will happen at the end of the Millennium during the Great White Throne Judgment, which is the final judgment. Every unbelieving person, whether great or small, who has ever lived will be resurrected into an eternal body and stand before God to receive their just punishment. This is a time of judgment that is horrifying. But here’s the good news: we all have the freedom to choose which judgment we will face. While we mentioned three judgments, there is actually a fourth judgment that occurs at the moment of death, determining whether we will stand before the “Bema Seat of Christ” or the “Great White Throne”. It’s a free choice that each person makes now—whether to accept Jesus as their Savior and live for Him as Lord of their life. Join us for worship and study to learn more.

The Assemblies of God - Fundamental Truth 14 - Audio
Sunday, August 10, 2025 – We’re continuing our study of the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, and today we’re speaking on the 14th truth – The Millennial Reign. If you ask many people in the church how much they know about this period, or if they believe the Bible says much about it, most would say they weren’t taught much about the millennium because they don’t think the Bible has much to say on the subject. However, the Bible reveals that over 27% of its content is prophetic, meaning that one in four verses discusses future prophetic events, including the 1,000-year reign of Christ. Why is it essential for us to understand this coming period? It helps us see what God’s plan is for the world in the future. Understanding this also highlights the importance of living as true believers in Christ and doing everything we can to share the gospel with others. We have a promised hope and destination to live for, knowing we will be rewarded as we stay faithful today. Please join us in worship and study as we explore what the 1000-year reign of Christ entails and our roles within it.

The Assemblies of God - Fundamental Truth 13 - Audio
Sunday, August 3, 2025 – Pastor Mike continues the study of the Assemblies of God 16 Fundamental Truths, focusing on Truth 13 – “The Blessed Hope.” The last four Tenets of the Assemblies' 16 Fundamentals all deal with future events yet to come and are the most exciting to discuss. Today, we’re talking about “The Blessed Hope,” which is the next major event on God’s prophetic timetable: the “Rapture of the Church.” The rapture is called the blessed hope, not because we are wishful that it will happen, but because it is a guaranteed promise based on the Bible’s words. The blessed hope is when Jesus returns in the clouds to take His Bride, the Church, back to His Father’s house in Heaven. That’s what we’ll explore in more detail. Worship and study with us, and you’ll be encouraged, knowing we can be confident in experiencing all that God has prepared. Watch until the very end, as Pastor Mike has a special announcement he shared with the congregation this morning regarding his future tenure at Center Point.

Do the Right Thing - Audio
Sunday, July 27, 2025 – Pastor Leland Hart, a retired pastor from Texas, delivers the word of God during the morning service with a message titled “Do the Right Thing.” Pastor Leland shares an inspiring and challenging message from 2 Kings 7, emphasizing that sometimes we need to go into the enemy's camp and reclaim what he has stolen. God is the giver of all good things, and the enemy is very clever in stealing the blessings and victories God has already given us. The church can’t sit back with good intentions and die. We need to be like the lepers—boldly entering the enemy’s camp, seeing the plunder of the enemy that God has scattered, and then being challenged with how to share it with others also dying as a result of the famine. In our lives today, as we see the blessings of God’s promises, we all have a responsibility to share what God has done in our lives within our circle of influence, trusting that as we do our part, God will do His. God promises to scatter the enemy and grant us victory, so we can share the good news. Revival starts with us—when we believe God's Word and go into all the world to share the Gospel. Do the right thing, and watch God do the rest.

The Assemblies of God - Fundamental Truth 12 - Audio
Sunday, July 13, 2025 – Pastor Mike continues the series on the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God Fellowship. Today, we are exploring Fundamental 12 – which is “Divine Healing.” Earlier, it was mentioned that there are a couple of beliefs that distinctly mark our fellowship as Pentecostal: the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues is clearly one, and our belief in “Divine Healing” is another. Both of these truths affirm that the “Gifts of the Spirit” evident in the early church are still active today, just as much needed in these last days as they were in the early church’s beginnings. Divine Healing is one of those mysterious beliefs, even for the most mature and dedicated followers of Jesus, because we don’t always clearly understand what God is doing in our lives and those we love. Why does God heal some people and not others? Why do good Christian people have to suffer, while those who live without regard for God seem to avoid pain and suffering? And I’m sure you may have other questions about why God doesn’t always work in the manner or timing that we expect. We will do our best to explore what God has for us during these difficult and confusing times. Here’s what we do know – God loves us, and He is the Healer. Our role is to ask, pray, seek, and trust Him with the rest. Worship and study with us…
