The Declaration of Independence is a document that promises life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness of all beings in the newly established United States. The US Constitution’s Preamble suggests that this artifact was to establish justice, promote general welfare, and protect the liberties mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. Inside of the Constitution are amendments that provide the rights of citizens in the United States of America. With that being said, it has been well documented of the cruel and unjust mistreatment as it relates to people of color and more specifically, black people. It is our fundamental belief that changes in our communities starts with the evolution of the black man. We must raise our young boys to become accountable and productive men and in the same vain, we have to make certain that our men are sustaining accountability and productivity as they move through adulthood. In the wake of change, we decided that our first episode would focus on ten rules for a black man to survive in America. I preface this conversation by saying that we are not experts but we feel that we have experienced enough to speak on this matter and to share the ideas we’ve processed. This first episode is titled “Me”.
