When most people think of divorce, they think of knockdown, drag out fights and court battles. It doesn't always have to be like that. It can be amicable and not messy. But at the same time, it's not fun it will never be fun. My personal experience is one worth sharing, I feel. And I hope it brings some help and light to somebody who's coming up on separation and divorce.

Life is a journey that is full of challenges. Sometimes you see them coming and sometimes they blind side you. In the world of recovery, post divorce, and rebuilding my life, sometimes these roadblocks can seem impassable. But no matter the situation you have to keep moving. There is a famous quote that says "if you can't run, then walk if you can't walk then crawl but whatever you do keep moving".

Every journey has a beginning and an end. For me the journey starts in the dar, alone, in a hospital room recovering from alcohol abuse. But it's always darkest just before the sun rises.
