Conas taoi? How are ye?
Welcome back to the Candlelit Tales podcast, where we tell Irish myths set to original music.
In this episode we’re getting into spooky season with a delightfully gruesome tale inspired by Lady Jane Wilde’s folklore collection. Samhain is a great time for spells of divination, looking into the future, and taking control of your destiny. But the price is always there, and the unwary will pay far more than they bargained for.
Please note the content of these stories may be triggering for some listeners, please take care of yourself as you listen. This story contains allusions to sudden death, mutilation of remains, loss of free will, social ostracization, and mental illness.

In this episode, we’re getting into spooky season with a sinister take on the changelingstories, inspired by a tale in a collection by Lady Jane Wilde. Sadness and loss were always in Ireland, and the changeling gave an explanation to the loss of innocent children when no other explanations could be found. A meeting with one of the dead at this time of year can be to deliver an even more sinister message. This one does not have a happy ending.

Conas taoi? How are ye? Welcome back to the Candlelit Tales podcast, where we tell Irish myths set to original music.
This episode continues our Fianna Saga with a classic Fianna adventure. This is yet another adventure tale turned wrong. But it takes place in High-hilled Alban, or Scotland as it’s more commonly called now. This tale is dark and gruesome and one that the Fianna wish not to repeat.
Please note the content of these stories may be triggering for some listeners. Please take care of yourself as you listen. This story contains mentions of dark magics, body mutilation, and descriptions of unusually awful creatures that some listeners might find disturbing.

Speaking of books, this tale was taken (and somewhat changed) from Finn and the Fianna, a wonderful collection of Fianna stories by storyteller and author Daniel Allison. And you can find more about Daniel and his book on his website here:

Conas taoi?
