Long ago it was normal to sit around a good campfire and share ghost stories and legends. Why not have that in a podcast! Join me as I share the ghost stories and legends of the country's parks, forests and woods. Have a ghost story to share that happened while camping? Send me an email @ campfireghoststories8.com and maybe you’ll hear your story next!

Episode 23 Mammoth Cave

Hello there campers! It is so good to see you. The holidays have been a hectic one so I hope you have had the chance to get out to the green and breathe a breath of fresh air! At tonight's campfire I take us to Mammoth Cave National Park.

It is considered to be one of the most, if not the most, haunted national park in the world! This is a huge cave spanning 400 miles of tunnels. This will definitely be a 2 parter but for this episode I pay tribute to Stephen Bishop. Stephen was a slave who, without him, we would not have the the maps and trials we do today. I personally, give my heartfelt thanks to Stephen and the other slaves who loved Mammoth Cave and considered it their home.

I will also discuss the Blackout Tours of Violet Cave, a doctors attempt at curing consumption by moving patient's in to the caverns, and some of the mummies that were discovered in the caves during early explorations. And if that isn't enough, I share with you the horrific death of William "Floyd" Collins.

Remember to aways take care of yourself and get out to the green as much as you can! Happy Camping!
